Is feedback manageable with P90’s?
I prefer rosewood or ebony, but do like maple fretboards as long as they’re unfinished.
it depends on the P90 itself, some are more prone to feedback than others. and also obviously it depends how much gain you put on your amp …
also a good noise gate is always a good idea with high gain and single coils. I plan to buy an ISP Decimator.
Feedback is a musical tool!! Don’t be scared of it!!
The latest guitar lineup. I replaced all the leather straps with 2” woven Nylon Earnie Ball straps. They feel real comfortable and I’m digging them.

For sure! But if you’re going really high gain, it’s hard to beat double-buck
There’s a reason some artists like Les Pauls…
I might be in trouble. I’ve flipped over into trying to talk myself out of it
Drawbacks? Well, it’s Gibson scale and not Strat scale. Not my preference.
… that’s all I got. Especially now that Paul Davids’ beginner course is available.
Billy on a Les Paul
That kind of thick bluesy overdriven sound is pretty much the LP’s trademark, yeah.
That’s why I loooooove my SG! All the tone without the weight.

Do you get neck dive on the SG?
Not that I find to be noticeable. It’s certainly not like my Thunderbird which dove like the red October. Lol. But that’s also why I put a different and lighter neck on my Thunderbird. The SG is fine the way it is for me.
It’s not even my usual Ikebe; I had to go across town to look at these.
And I didn’t end up getting what I expected anyway
Not the color I expected. Not the model I expected. But this happened:
2022 Revstar RSE20, in Swift Blue
I’m not sure if I should blame @Paul for his “encouragement” or myself for trying to GAS @John_E in to buying one and falling victim to my own crimes
I used to be all red instruments but now I have a new pattern going:
nice one, I like the color
your instruments are very … blue … I really like all of them.
I didn’t remember you’ve sold the Cort and the TRBX (assuming everything is on the picture)

Yeah apparently blue and white is my new jam. I like all of these too
The Revstar color is actually interesting and doesn’t photograph super accurately. It’s got more yellow/green in it than you can tell in the picture; it’s close to a Fender pastel blue like Miami Blue.
I went in to the store certain I was going to buy the Standard, to get the stainless steel frets, binding, and funky transformer thing. But I actually liked the push/pull high-pass on the Element more than the transformer boost. They also felt identical, but the Standard they had in the store actually had a small amount of fret sprout, which I could fix of course, but I’m not buying a new instrument with it, particularly with stainless frets to file. Adding those up, I saved a few hundred bucks and went with the Element.

Yeah I sold the Cort a while back as I just wasn’t so in to it, even with the new pickups. And I belatedly sold my TRBX because after I bought the SBV, I never played it much again
I did not expect this but I found I like chunkier necks on guitars. No longer prefer 38mm; 40 or higher with a slightly deeper profile.
I’ve never owned one before now but can I just say that Tune-o-matic bridges are a bit crap?
Thanks, Gibson

Tune-o-matic bridges are a bit crap
I hate the Tune-o-matic. a great example of Gibson design indeed … but I don’t understand why some current brands still use this crappy thing.
