I betrayed Bass and bought a Guitar!

what’s the pickup ?

most SG are really light actually, because the body is very thin.

that said, mine is particularly heavy. oh and it’s not a HH, it’s a single-P90  the Gibson-ish vision of the Esquire. a stoner-sludge beast for sure.

what’s not to love in a Strat ? not my favorite color, but there are so many to choose from …

I had that one custom wound for me by a local guy. 8.5k so it’s not super hot and cleans up really nicely. I have two sets of his strat pickups as well. So so good.

The more I think about it the more I regret going for my Cort back then instead of the Pacifica 611 hardtail. H/P90, strat scale, excellent hardware, everything looks perfect except for the pickguard.

I was given this low end 3/4 student guitar today, with a broken neck.

It looks worse than it is, it should be a pretty easy fix. Not sure what I will do with this guitar but at first I’ll try to repair it.

Who designed this abomination

Seriously, I think everyone here will agree that I am pretty out there when it comes to loving funky guitars and basses, and even I think this sad thing should be dragged out back and shot.

Burst… it’s not helping

I love how the string retainer makes it look like Beaker

the headstock is incredibly ugly.

The body shape is awesome but I don’t think I have ever seen a headstock that laughably bad.

@howard Glad you said that, because I thought the body has a certain almost symmetrical beauty to it. The headstock doesn’t quite offend my aesthetic sensibilities to the degree it does for you and @terb, though. Maybe together they just clash? At the least, it’s something “different” from the usual Fender headstock.

That headstock is taken from one of their classic 12 string electrics. They’ve been doing that Paranormal series and mixing bits and pieces that traditionally haven’t gone together. Quirky stuff that is so ugly only a hipster, or me, would buy. Add a “slightly-out-of-tuneomatic” and interpretive tuning stick… the dreams lofi pitchiness is made of!! I’ll wait until people can’t even give them away and I’ll buy it used.

Lol at that Beaker comment, that had me going :joy:

The headstock looks like a sock. MonoNeon would approve.

Not my thing, but at least they are trying to innovate. Do you have to crank that tremolo to get it started?

I don’t know if it beats buying a boat. I love my boat. Cheaper maybe, definitely.

Buying my boat was a happy happy day. Selling it was even happier
