cold shower, yeah. With a clock counting down the 45 minutes it will take you to get to a dry towel. With a fan blowing on you.

Unexpected accidental discovery - I am almost certain I could gig guitar with just my studio monitors. I hope my neighbors weren’t home. 160W at about half volume into a pair of 5"/1" monitors was, it turns out, very very loud with a guitar.

Nice clear sound though. Testing amp sims so someone got an earful of glorious Soldano SLO-100

…aaaand now I own two Revstars

Temporarily. Decided to go for the Standard after all, so basically an upgrade from my Element. So now I need to sell the Element. Gonna take a hit on that but in the end I decided that the extra features and better pickups were worth it.

Plus, now I own a guitar with a transformer in it :sunglasses:

Same color because that’s an awesome color, sticking with my all-blue theme for now.

Only bummer - maple top, so it’s noticeably heavier. (edit: it turns out it’s only 200g heavier! yay. Half pound is noticeable but not so bad.)

I think I ought to check out the Yamaha Revstar range sometime. I have had a Yamaha SG700S for 20+ years and it has always been a lovely guitar. By the way I think of the SG700S as more like a double cut Les Paul than a Gibson SG.

The Revstar is definitely modeled on the Yamaha SG. Very similar look and layout.

It’s an Eastman E3DE.

But I don’t sail. I fish. I have fished all of life, growing up in S. Florida and the Florida Keys. Also played a lot of Jimmy Buffett music living down there.

Beautiful Guitar. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Earlier this year I looked at Eastman Guitars but in the end purchased a Yamaha APX600 Electro/Acoustic to replace my Yamaha JR2 which needed new fret wires and the cost was more than just replacing it. The only mod I did to the APX600 was to add a pickguard. It plays beautifully.

2nd Cordoba C3M. First was broken. zZounds was super slow to deal with, taking 2-3 days per email response, then I had to ship them the broken one and only then would they ship the replacement, which then took several days and was possibly going to be delayed until mid-December but they found one somewhere…

both guitars were TRASH FRET CENTRAL. But the one I kept I spent 30 minutes with a small diamond file to flush them to the fretboard, and then a Fret Guru dressing file around the edges. I’m not a fret end master, not gonna call it buttery/glassy smooth but it’s actually playable now. They were so f’ing sharp out of the box that I couldn’t play it at all.

Squier Vintage Modified Cabronita. I’ve always liked this model and I finally found one near my place.

I already own the Fender version, but I will probably sell or trade it and keep the Squier. The pickups are the same and the build quality is very similar. Also the neck profile is great on both but I prefer the Squier one, a little bit thinner and very similar to the Classic Vibe necks. I really like Squier necks overall.

It counts….

For $79, it’s already a ton of fun, and I haven’t a clue what I’m doing.
So who is the @JoshFossgreen of lap steel courses? lol

Sweet! I totally love the inlays. Wanna hear it - maybe fret an Em, hit it hard and throw it on SoundCloud?

Where did you get it for $79 and what gauge strings are on it?

I got what’s in the pic, a lap steel.
Also legs and a nice case.
The set of strings that comes on it is meh but set for C6 tuning. I got a new set but haven’t put them on yet.
I did some lessons in a book with that then jumped to a different book that uses G tuning and the strings need to be heavier so ordered some of those. Awaiting their arrival.

It’s fun…. But it’s hard!
Lots of coordination needed that I don’t yet have but love the sound!
