I betrayed Bass and bought a Guitar!

I’m gonna wait for the Chibson.

Man, the US Blonde is so close to being a great color. Just needs more pink. Unfortunately the one on the right is much more accurate of real-life look.

Love the subtle woodgrain.

There’s already another white one so this one needs to be… less white. MORE PINK.

Ya their “blonde” is all over the place.
And the “peeping woodgrain” is swell.
No pink in sight here.

That’s a great color too, very nice

the butterscotch and the trans white are a bit different.

Greenie and Juliette were both trans white before I painted them

But they call this “blonde”

For the life of me I cannot understand why the Justin Guitar course is free!?
Do you get to a part where you have to start paying?
This is incredible. He should be charging from the beginning.

You can support him by buying the accompanying practice app.

Justin is the best, just really great.

He does have some paid content but all the beginners stuff (and a whole lot more) is free. And he keeps revamping it!

His app is quite expensive but apparently very good.

Now, that would feel like playing a button accordion :accordion:
Not sure how that would get you through the painful learning of chord fingerings on those tiny strings :confounded:
Edit: I probably didn’t get the humour part… Damn those mornings, especially after switching to summer time :sleepy:

It’s not free, just charged on the honour system.
If you can afford to do so you make a payment or set up a sub.
If you can’t afford it then enjoy the lessons and the best of luck to you.

From the website:
When I started JustinGuitar, I was encouraged by the emails I was getting from people all over the globe. People that could not afford proper lessons and were loving the website! I believe that good things travel. Maybe the goodwill that I offer here will spread, and people will “pay it forward.” Together, we can make a small contribution to the greater good and help make this planet a little better to live on for all of us… It became my aim to keep as much as possible free on this website. It’s going pretty well so far, but it does need financial support to survive. So I run JustinGuitar on an honor system. It is the only way to help people who can’t afford lessons, people on income support, or the disabled. I estimate that about 1/4 of my students are people without credit cards. If I started charging, I wouldn’t be helping the people I want to help, and that would be awful.
> If you can afford to donate, you should not consider JustinGuitar free!
Unfortunately, at the moment, less than 0.1% of all users donate. I’m pretty sure that at least 50% of users would be able to donate the cost of a book or a private lesson once a year at least. This site gives you a WHOLE lot more than that. You can try it out for free as long as you like, but if you can, please help me make more cool lessons. If you enjoy JustinGuitar, I would appreciate a contribution - don’t leave it for someone else. Have a good job and a few guitars? Put your hand in your virtual pocket now.

He has to do a better job of getting that in front of folks. Never saw it.

“I don’t charge for my lessons because I know that not everyone can afford them. By donating, you help provide the very best guitar education to people from all walks of life, all over the world.”

Just donated myself, thanks for the reminder @HowlinDawg

(It is also important to remember that he himself is likely doing quite fine, if for some reason one doesn’t want to donate. Over 1.6 million subs, 246M views. Individual videos with over 10M views. Not trying to guilt trip anyone here; donate if you feel it’s the right thing for you.)

Aha. Just got to the app sell in.
Trying it out for a week. Seems like a good way to support him but - I hate these timed subscriptions as this is. It my priority, sax and bass are. So it might sit for long periods. Might just throw him some $.

That’s what I did, I made donations during the periods that I used the service.

I tried the app but didn’t really like it.
That was early days though, so maybe it’s been improved by now.

He talks about features he wants to add in the first lessons videos that seem to be there now. However, the app and the web are not connected, so progress does not mirror, which is a full stop nope for me. I can slow songs down many ways anyway, don’t really need his app, which seems to be the biggest feature.

According to his net worth he is doing more then fine. Combined with his other work (iirc he does lessons too) and donations he is making quite some earnings.
