I betrayed Bass and bought a Guitar!

I love the Revstar line! I actually like the style, it’s kind of like a modern DC LP, i like it better than the old Yamaha SG. I already have 3 humbucker guitars so i think i’d have to get it with P90s in it, I like the denim or brick burst. I was going to buy one a couple of years ago but the ones i like are pretty expensive and i really dont “need” another guitar. Ibanez had a nice budget Gio double cut series too but they discontinued it.

Do you watch Chris Buck’s YT channel? He does some great playing on revstars.

I haven’t but I should check it out. The looks would probaby grow on me as it is definitely nonstandard and thus usually what I would want. The blue/grey one with the stripe is a fantastic color too.

I love its sound though, that’s the coolest part. They just sound great.

I’m putting the graph tech ghost pickups system on mine hopefully this weekend. From what I see on the website sofar it sounds like an acoustic guitar when switch on.

Let us know how that works out.

I done screw up real bad!

I did the most illogical thing to do just 5 days into my guitar journey, and bought a new guitar! :grimacing:

PRS SE Zach Myers Signature Model. This thing is kick ass! Super comfortable, light weight, sounds great, looks stunning, and has good reviews so far. Does that make me a guitar snob already on day 5?

As nice as the Strat is, I’m just not gelling with it. The volume knob keeps getting in my way and it feels like the strings are too close together for my fingers. So it’s now up for sale on Offer-UP. Someone will get a really nice clean Strat.

You’re only a snob if you look down at other’s guitars.

Now if PRS could make a bass that wasn’t meh…

You didn’t screw up.
Look at your next statement.

Sounds to me like you found your perfect fit :+1: :+1: :+1:

Looks beautiful. Congratulations.
No return policy on the Strat? :slightly_frowning_face:

And THIS is why I won’t buy a guitar…

That’s not me so I guess I’m good to go! :+1:

Unfortunately no. Bought it off a private seller on Offer-Up so no returns. But I’m confident it will sell.

Ha ha, you are wiser than me!

I haven’t played it yet. I’ve been staring at it for hours now!

and it starts. :joy:

That’s a beautiful colour! I like the semi-hollow body too. Snob? Most people who play PRS are kind of fanatical :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I started with a free Yamaha Pacifica which is like an HSS strat. but I definitely enjoy a single cut, HH style like that better.

If you were just going to do that, a picture would have been way cheaper :joy:

Oh that’s gorgeous. PRS, very very nice.

This is a common complaint about strats and clones FWIW, as is bumping the pickup selector. You’re not alone

I like either HSS or HH, but there has to be at least one H for me - love the sound

It made me look again and I immediately regretted it

Like,

Blue ESP Grassroots F-series for $200.

Nope nope nope. Not getting another guitar, hands are more than full getting back in to synths.

Hey, check it out, though - Eastwood Custom is making brand new SGV clones:

It’s funny, for years I just played alone, always preferred the warm tones from the neck pickup, never liked the bridge pickup. Then I started playing bass, playing to more to backing tracks and recording and discovered how bad that sounds in a mix. I’d EQ it how it sounded good alone, then I’d hate how it sounded in a mix. it took me a while to to get a sound I liked…lots of back and forth before I realized what was going on, which it should have occurred to me waaaay sooner. :joy: Now I mostly play the bridge pickup

here Tyler looks at the worst guitar tones on famous songs.

Good job there enabler :joy:

Speaking of synths, I’m trying to keep from fooling myself into thinking that building an analog synth would be a fun thing to do :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Ooh man that would be fun. Going in the opposite direction I am currently on but still a blast for a project
