Western Union has a special way to send to inmates, but it requires the name of the institution. Do you know the name of his prison? I asked him, but he is not responding, probably because he is out of money.

Hmmm, theres a Moneygram agent in my town. I’ll have a word with them and see if theres a way to transfer funds from Europe directly from their offices.
Is there a limit to the amount he can receive?

Here is a short update on Toby (I received the photo via his mom; the photo is from July).
They have trained the first batch dogs and had to let them move on, but Toby is hoping to get a new puppy soon again.
Apparently, he still hasn’t gotten any basses to teach others (as had been promised many months ago).
Also, every now and then, the facility goes into lockdown - not because of a Covid outbreak, but typically because of contraband and then all access to mail and TV and even yard access is severely limited or denied for a period.
Finally, communication with the outside is dependent on having funds for being able to use email. So, it’s often not easy for Toby to reach out to others (even his parents).
Otherwise, as far as I can tell, he is doing OK and keeping his spirits up. Working with the puppies sure seems to help

For those of you remembering Toby and still interested in helping him out (by donating some funds, which help him get some access to e-mail and allow him to get a few better food items (tuna etc) and “better” underwear, socks etc.), there were challenges for us outside of the US to do that in any efficient way without miles of red tape.
For those of you from the US, there was/is always Wester Union or Moneygram as an option (see details in this thread).
For the rest of us, there is now an option, which allows us to send donations to Toby’s mother via her PayPal account; and she is then transferring the funds to Toby.
If you are interested, please PM me for details!
It’d be good to distribute our support over the year, as there is a limit of how much he can receive in any given month anyway.
Toby is still looking to get certified as a dog trainer and he is going to work with a new puppy now in the new year. He is also still hopeful to get a few basses and teach his fellow inmates the low end
