DeJohnette was a true original and an inspiration to drummers and to all lovers of jazz freedom. His music will live on. RIP, man.

Prunella Scales, famed Fawlty Towers star, dies aged 93
Prunella Scales, best known for playing Sybil Fawlty in the BBC sitcom Fawlty Towers, has died aged 93; her family said she died peacefully at home in London on 27 October 2025. The actress enjoyed a near-70-year career across stage, film and television and, despite a 2014 diagnosis of vascular dementia, continued to appear alongside her husband on the travel series Great Canal Journeys before stepping away from TV work. Her husband, fellow actor Timothy West, died in November 2024 after a marriage of six decades; the family thanked carers and said her last days were comfortable and surrounded by love.

Not memoriam yet and hopefully won’t be, but cEvin Key announced on his patreon that his cancer is back on his face, and while basal cell it isn’t topical this time. This is awful news, he’s absolutely one of my musical heroes.

It was heartbreaking to watch Jimmy’s monologue. It was almost impossible for him to get through it, but he said he needed to because his best friend, Cleto, deserved to be remembered and celebrated for how unique and remarkable he was throughout his whole life.
Cleto’s dad plays in Jimmy’s band, and Cleto’s mom was in the audience. Jimmys tribute to their son served to recognize and thank them for accepting him into their family throughout his childhood best friendship with their son.
Jimmy spoke of Cleto through tears, laughter and with deep love. He also, once again, showed us his heart and who he is.
Rest in peace, Cleto. Your brother Jimmy has got your back, as always and forever.

Yeah this is just awful and it’s impossible not to feel for Kimmel and Cleto’s family. No wonder they went with reruns earlier.
