Welcome @FletchMan
Welcome @Ludders, glad you’re enjoying the course!
Welcome @FletchMan, this is indeed a very good vibe community!
Well, folks, I think I’ve just raised the average age here a bit. I’m qixotic, a septuagenarian who has younger guitar playing friends and who has gotten tired of sitting on the sidelines, so I’m warming up my geriatric old fingers and diving into the bass. I used to play guitar, but it was so long ago, I can’t remember if I was any good or not!
I saw Josh’s intro lesson here after seeing his right hand technique lesson and I want to grow up to be him…can’t wait to get started and to meet all of you…
I’m Chris a 42 year old newbie who needed a hobby. I love music, tried my hand at guitar as a kid but it didn’t work out. I love how bass sounds, makes you feel and makes you want to move so this time around I went with bass guitar. First picked it up 2 years ago tried learning on my own at first, I hated the idea of going to the local to have a kid half my age try and teach me music I didn’t know. But after stumbling around for a month or two on my own I signed up for the “Gloves” course and its good but I couldn’t follow what he was doing and it was too upscale for me. Then life got busy and I put the bass down. Then Covid and I’ve had some time. Again I tried going it on my own at first and then I started watching these YouTube videos with this guy 2/3rds my age with a banana on his arm and I got him. He is a “Bonehead” like me and thats it. I signed and I’m really enjoying what we are playing and I can see his hands and how he frets and it makes all the differance. Just one thing. Has anyone called Josh a “Leftist” yet? Or recently? I read his “righty” propaganda in the bonus material. Its bad enough
us lefties have less immediate options for gear and pay more for them but he’s always like “let’s talk about what your right hands doing” Lol! Not hating just playing. Lefties Unite.

Welcome to the community @qixotic & @Cdecoteau!
Welcome @Cdecoteau. Can’t give you much help since I too am a “righty”.
54 year old noob, always wanted to try a bass, I love the rhythm section the best. Had another off on my Supermoto a couple months ago and I got the matching scar for a clavicle surgery on the right side. Just about healed up now and have had my Sterling Ray4 for about three weeks. Got the B2B course on Monday after farting around looking at all the different youtube vids for instruction. Josh had a pretty fun attitude when it comes to teaching, I did flight instruction for a few years and I liked his style so here I am. Billie Jean Day is tomorrow, should be interesting to say the least. Jack and I will give it our best.

Nice bass but more importantly, nice cat! All jokes aside, I wish you well on your bass journey.
