Been a lurker since the beginning of the lockdown for Covid. I started B2B about this time and finished the course in about six months. The whole journey to playing the bass started out with guitar lessons. I was searching for guitar lessons on YouTube and these videos from a guy name Josh kept showing up in my searches. After watching several I decided that I would like to learn bass as well as guitar. Like a lot of the people on here I waited later in life to pursue these instruments. I started the course playing a Glarry jazz bass to see if this is what I wanted to do. I quickly past that bass onto my neighbor so he could start this journey and purchased a Ibanez Mikro. I was having terrible hand pains playing a 34 inch bass. My thinking was maybe a short scale bass was the way to go since I didn’t have problems playing the guitar. It worked and I continued with the course without any more hand pain. The hand pain mention above didn’t happen while playing but occurred in the middle of the night keeping me up a portion of the night. Since the Mikro purchase, I have purchased a Dean EV0, Fender Mustang and a Duesenberg Starplayer TV Mike Campbell bass. All the basses are short scale. Amps I use are a Fender Rumble 40, Vox pocket bass amp and a Boss pocket GT amp. To keep the noise down from the other people in the house I usually have a pair of Sennheiser HD599 headphones on. I am still on the guitar journey but that is for a different thread.

Hello! I’m new here. I’m in my mid-30s - married with one kid and another on the way. I’ve been playing music my whole life. Took piano and violin lessons through childhood. Taught myself trumpet and guitar in high school. I also sing and have dabbled with the sitar!
I’ve been vegan since 2015, and vegetarian before that since 2002ish.
Literally just stopped by the music store today and rented a cheap bass and amp just to get started - I miss playing music regularly and getting to jam with people! I’m hoping doing this program will let me see if bass is something I enjoy and want to invest more time/money in. So far so good!

I’m new here, so let’s start introducing myself. I’m Denise 32 years and living in the Netherlands.
I played Cello in my childhood, unfortunatley I had to quit when I was 12 years old because the music lessons and rent for a Cello became to expensive for my parents (I’m from a big family). I always thought I will pick up the Cello again, but the instrument it self is so expensive to buy that I decide to start playing Bass. I can borrow a Bass from a friend, I will pick it up this evening, and sometime I will buy one myself when I like it 
Doing some research now everything I need and already bought a music lesson book.
I’m very excited to start this, always wanted to do something again with music and think it’s good to have a hobby. Music styles I like: everything between Rock and Metal. But I can appreciate a lot of music styles, so let’s do this!
Hey Josh. Finished half the course. Love it! Would like to talk more about bass, but have a quick question…can you recommend an instructor (with similar teaching style as yourself) for drums (kit). I bought my g’son an electric drum kit for Xmas & now want to get him lessons. Thx

As far as intro…70 years old. Played bass in high school and college. Got married, had kids, paid my taxes and now 60+ years later I’m back! Picked up the 6 string about 3 years ago. Just had to go back to my roots. It’s been far out, man!
BTW… that’s a pick of me on Red Rocks stage! My absolutely favorite live music venue!!
