Top word.
Didn’t know that one.
Thanks for the heads up
@Mark_D I spent 25 years as a magazine writer and editor. I know a passel of words that many people have never heard
Thanks @PamPurrs! I just started on the third of April and am really enjoying it so far.
Our weather is typically what happened to you five hours ago! LOL
Stay Tuned,
Jim
… minus the ungodly winds of Palm Springs LOL
Depends if you’re in the Wind Corridor along the north part of Palm Springs (I-10). South of Vista Chino it tapers off.
That’s why we have a windmill farm north of town! LOL
I’ve driven past those on a holiday to USA, on my way from Santa Barbara to Austin TX. An amazing amount of them.
Also what appeared to be solar farms - field after field full of solar panels.
Welcome to the course and the forum Jim @JPHaggerty! Glad you were able to support the fundraiser.
Welcome @Jelte! Love Bootsy and Nathan.
Welcome Tom @Pal_Zero! Good time to start bass!
Welcome @Trev1, glad my Youtube vids were helpful!
And welcome Chris @Krescht!
Hi @Mark_D!
Next time you’re in town drop in and say hello! At one time I had five Yamaha motorcycles and a Rrrrred Corvette! Now I have an Ibanez bass. Times change!
Stay Tuned,
Jim
Hi! I just signed up for lessons! The push to get serious is this whole covid 19 outbreak happening now. All the gyms are closed and many other things I enjoy are at a halt. Any way I saw you were in the Air Force Reserves, I am in right now and was Ammo for several years, on the civi side I was a loader on the MQ-9, well technically still am but trying to change careers. Anyway good to read your story, stay safe.
Renee
@azchandler howdy neighbor, and welcome to the forum. Your screen name makes me tempted to change mine to azsantanvalley LOL.
Welcome @azchandler. I’m sure it’d be a good use of your time going through the modules. I started recently and it’s been fun thus far.
Welcome to the forum @azchandler!
I know what you mean, @azchandler
It’s great that you’re using the lockdown as a chance to pick up the bass! Welcome aboard and good luck in the course . . .
All best, Joe
Hi @Trev1,
According to BassBuzz I’ve completed 37 of the 109 lessons so far. I started Billie Jean but skipped it in the middle of the medium workout and continued with the lessons. I revisit her now and then. LOL
Stay Tuned,
Jim
As one does
Sorry I made a mistake, I may have misread something, it was very late.
Aloha,
I’m James. Decided to give learning the bass another try now that I’m quarantined. I stumbled on this course and am about five days into it. Love it thus far.
I started with talking bass several years ago; great teacher and great info on the site, but I like this approach MUCH better. Actually feels like i’m getting somewhere. Looking forward to continuing.
Aloha @Sharpesan!
Welcome to the community. Do you live in Hawaii?
Welcome @azchandler! Good time to learn bass, and do at-home calisthenics workouts.
Welcome James @Sharpesan, glad you’re enjoying the course!
Hi all,
I’ve just registered on this site after stumbling onto Josh’s videos on YouTube. (Excellent stuff by the way!).
I’m from the UK, 47 year old male. No, hang on, it was my birthday last week, dammit - I’m 48 now!
Music wise, I had piano lessons drummed into me by my folks when I was at school. I joined a ‘band’ when I was in my 20’s and I was given the role of bass - I didn’t even have a say in it! I think I had a really battered Ibanez. I think it had the letters ST on it. Can’t remember much else, including where it went. Anyway, did a few gigs which was fun and then kinda left music alone as I moved away to a different part of the UK. Fast forward to about 4 years ago, and I started getting back into it. Tried with keyboards again, but there was no resisting the pull of the bass, as we all know
So now I’m really glad I’ve found these courses, because I’m aware that learning bad habits is always a slog to un-learn, so pressure is now on your lessons Josh, haha!
There are a few people that I jam with so there’s normally something going on, although Covid-19 has put a temporary halt on that for the time being, so I guess I have nothing else to do apart from becoming a bass badass!
For genres, I adore funk, but happy to play anything really - as long as I’m playing everything is fine
I also like the warm fuzzy feeling of meeting other fellow bassists, so hello to you all.
Cheers,
Max
