@jenny20 Welcome! Sounds like you’re fitting right in
Great stuff on picking that drummer’s bass up - look at the journey you’re on now!
I am loving the Dua Lipa album and its funky bass lines. Don’t Start Now, Break My Heart, even the more chill vibe of Pretty Please. Loving it!
Welcome @kevinmcmullan!
I’ve tried learning Break My Heart. I can do it at maybe at 3/4 the full tempo, and only if my fingers are feeling especially limber! haha
Welcome @jenny20 !
Strangely enough in my school band times we always had someone who wanted to play bass. Vocals on the other hand…
wow. This is the closest I’ve gotten to someone who has spoken to Jimmy Garrison. He’s an upright hero of mine for sure. Such power and intensity, and such an anchor for that absolute storm of sound.
Welcome, and thanks for that excellent story.
Saxes are awesome, but they are not considered brass instruments! (They’re woodwinds.)
Oh. Thanks for the info. Didn’t know.
Reading the wikipedia page about saxophones now…
Hey my name is Chuck and I am 29 years old. I just bought Beginner to Badass today! I have been playing bass for about 6 months and I really like it. I have been learning by using Josh’s free videos and other stuff on youtube. I have been a drummer for 15 years so this is my first time playing a stringed instrument and I love it!
@chuckguidetti91 welcome aboard, look fwd to your post’s

Thanks!! (I changed my username). Can’t wait to learn more about the bass!

Hope you enjoy the course.

I’m Jess (28F), and I’ve played guitar since I was 14 but never put the effort in to become truly proficient. I picked up my first bass a few years ago and will occasionally learn a song I like, but I never seriously studied the instrument. During quarantine I’ve gotten more into it and am now taking the time to learn scales, study Josh’s videos, and practice learning songs by ear. I’ve always been passionate about music and I’m glad to be studying it again. When I’m not practicing I’m playing video games, binging Netflix with my roommate, or watching my cat knock things over. Glad to be here!
Welcome to you, your roommate and your cat @fghtffyrdmns. What is your screen name? It looks as if you just slammed your fingers into the keyboard, moves slightly in one direction, and said, perfect name
( no offense intended)
And welcome abord @jenny20 and screen name morphing @ChuckGuy8
Looks like something involving fighting fire demons to me, @T_dub.
