Hello. New guy here. My name is Javi, from Spain. Just entered in the 4th decade.
I spent a long time thinking about getting an electric bass, and in the end, my wife ended up giving it to me as a gift. I love music, I love the sound of the bass, and the solos. People like Abraham Laboriel and Pee Wee Hill drive me crazy. Although what I listen to is Metal (heavy, Power, speed, and symphonic) and Rock. My biggest problem is that I have no idea about music. I have no ear or rhythm skills. So, this is going to be quite a challenge for me. But Iām very motivated for this course thanks to the teacher. With his YouTube videos, I was able to start handling my bass. But now, I need something more substantial, more serious, tougher.
Big HI to everyone, and weāll see each other around here. For now, Iāll try the 3-month course because with a one-year-old daughter, I donāt think I can afford to try it in one month.

Hola y bienvenido Kosako. What part of Spain are you from?
Hi, Iām Erik!
For years, any time I picked up anything vaguely guitar shaped, it always felt really awkward and unnatural, and I could never pin down what it was. I wrote off stringed instruments as not for me.
Only until recently did I realize that itās because Iām primarily left handed, and for whatever reason this type of instrument is the thing where my brain doesnāt want to be flexible.
Recently, my spouse has gotten into playing a mountain dulcimer, and my kid plays drums with School of Rock, and I felt a bit left out. So I got myself a lefty bass!
Iāve only been learning for a couple weeks, but itās coming very naturally. I sang in choir junior high through college (bass represent), and I played piano for a couple years, so I have more than enough rusty music theory to feel at home.
I appreciate the course materials, the pacing is moving fast enough that Iām not bored, but structured enough that I donāt get left behind. Iām glad I gave the bass a chance!
