Welcome @erik.lentz
Hi there!
Sounds kinda similar to me - I developed more of an ear for music through playing and humming notes (that came after joining a choir). So maybe you can try to play some high notes, hum along and develop your ear a little. Helped me!
And hello to all the newcomers! You inspire me to practice
Good to have you!
Antonio
Welcome @erik.lentz

Hey everyone
I hope I’m posting this properly because I’m not used to the forum yet. Anyways, my name’s Rhys, I’m 23 and I live in London. Music is my greatest passion, I’m always listening to it and since the bass is my favourite instrument, I was really pumped to start learning it so I bought everything I needed at the start of 2020. Despite making a strong start, unfortunately being in lockdown really killed my motivation and my bass ended up gathering dust for three years.
But if I had been practicing even a little during those three years I would be way further than I am today, so I slapped myself upside the head and bought this course two days ago! I’m happy to say It’s already sparked the flame I needed to get back into the swing of things and I’m loving it, I’m even doing the hardcore mode.
Many of my friends are musicians, sadly none play bass so they can’t give me any pointers. That said, I’d like to have a band of my own one day and it’s nice to know I’m working towards that.
Welcome @Rhys
Welcome, @Rhys. Glad you’re here. Any time is a great time to learn bass. Enjoy the lessons!
Hello. Sorry i just saw this today!
Im Andalusian, from “La isla” like Camarón
Well, it’s motivating because I find it challenging to develop my ear. I wish I had more time to dedicate to it, but I’m in the first rookie year of parenthood, and the little one takes up more time than I thought I’ll keep in mind the advice about the high notes. Thanks!
Welcome @Rhys !

Great to have you here @Rhys
Hi, new to bass but have to say really been enjoying it ! The lessons are nice and short enough you can do a few a night without getting overwhelmed, Josh makes it easy to learn and fun and I have to say i am very surprised how much I have leaned so quick !! I am 57 and have listened to music for many years the weird part is after a short time how it changes how you listen to music allot ! for example I heard the Beatles I feel fine the other day and instead of just the lyrics I found myself hearing more McCartney and the bass lines and how it was being played LOL this is a great course and glad I have gotten into it finally !
