Great to have you here @juandelakarite
Greetings all! Beginner (and future Badass) Mike Brown from New Jersey. In my mind I’ve always been the baddest bass player on the planet. Problem is, I don’t read music, never had lessons, and never owned a bass… until today! Bought my first bass today, a Yamaha TRBX504 in Translucent Brown, a Fender Rumble 40 amp, and the “Beginner to Badass” course, and at 66 and semi-retired, I’m ready to go to work!!!
Welcome @mikebrown13
Have fun!

Welcome to all the new folks I missed who joined over the past month. I didn’t realize @JoshFossgreen had created a 2024 version of introduce yourself, and I was only checking the old one.
I was wondering why no new people were joining.
Ooops!
@PamPurrs - I heared a rumour that Josh has discovered the Kazoo and has given up bass consequently. Everybody is waiting for his new KazooBuzz channel now…
Hey Jerry. I’m in Lumberton.
Hi all I started the B2B course in October of last year. My bassist origin story begins as a piano player in middle school jazz band. For many of those songs the piano parts were too hard lol, so my teacher said I could just play the bass line along with our bassist. I really enjoyed being part of the rhythm section, but didn’t think I was cool enough to play bass guitar. That was ~20 years ago, and now I’m hoping to jam out with friends soon!
This is Jasnah (high fives to anyone who knows where this name is from):

Welcome, @Raquelaroots. Glad you’re here. Enjoy!
I had Organ (keyboard) lessons as a teen back in the 80s, didn’t like it and I was pretty rubbish at it too. Was more interested in football another sports. My dad played guitar (self taught) and gigged in a band and solo part time. My son was a grade 8 pianist by the time he was 14, getting him to lessons when he was young I think made a huge difference. I also started to think the music gene skipped a generation.
So… One last try (aged 54) with bass guitar. I looked at myriad of free beginner lessons on You Tube but these got you you so far and then what next. So I lost interest / motivation and the guitar has been collecting dust for past 12 months. Saw the reviews for the Beginner to Badass course, signed up for it and just completed module 1. The pace of learning is great and the overall course is clearly a well thought out progression / journey. Hopefully I can master the rest of the course.
