I decided one year that “New Years Resolution” was language that sort of sets you up for frustration. If you Resolve™ to do something, but life gets in the way and you don’t follow through, it feels worse than if you Intend™ to do something and it doesn’t pan out. I write down my New Years Intentions, and approach them with purpose, but it somehow feels less hurtful to also approach them from the mindset of “this is a thing that I intend to do, but I understand that life happens sometimes so if I don’t get there it’s ok.”

I’ve heard said that the road to hell is paved with those.

I don’t think @alesplin ever mentioned whether the intentions were necessarily good. :innocent:

Neither did I.

I mean, since many of my New Years Intentions are music-related, my mom might argue that they’re all straight from the devil…

That’s how they get you. The road to hell is paved with good intonation.

Hello! My name is Jose Ortiz. I bought a Schecter C5 bass a long time ago and it has been sitting in my room for at least a decade. I needed to go back into it and play it. I feel bad that I wasted so much time and did not take it as serious as I should have. Oh, well… now I am here learning basics and more.
