Welcome @danbass
Welcome @saroohoo
Hi all, I’m Andrea, I live in Cumbria, UK and have recently bought a bass guitar. I have had little flutters of musical activity through my life (I’m 55) starting in Junior school playing acoustic guitar, then playing in the school band on tenor horn. In my teens I had a go at playing an electric 6 string, as many of us do. That was it then for many years, until I bought a keyboard a few years back. I do enjoy the piano, but have the urge to pick up a guitar again, so here I am with a bass guitar. I’ve just bought the course, so I look forward to being ‘badass’ in a few months time! I look forward to getting to know you in this forum too

Hello!
I just joined BassBuzz. Long time follower of Josh’s videos on YouTube and finally broke down and joined today.
I used to play guitar back in high school and was only good at rhythm because I don’t have the “motor skills” for soloing. Pretty much stopped playing guitar decades ago because I was just going nowhere with it. I still felt, over the years, that I wanted to do and play some instrument. At the beginning of last year, a friend of mine told me watch an anime called “Bocchi the Rock”; it’s about an introverted girl that learns how to play the guitar to hopefully make friends. Being that, I am introverted a bit, I was able to get into the series and see how she progresses. A couple episodes into the series and a bass player is introduced and then I thought, “What if I try playing bass instead?”
I bought a bass and mainly used Rocksmith on my X-Box to learn the basics and learn how to play songs. Yes, Rocksmith was my teacher. I started watching YouTube bass players like Charles Berthoud, Scott’s Bass lessons, Davie504 and this other guy named Josh on BassBuzz (maybe you’ve heard of him ). Out of all the Bass YouTubers I follow, Josh was the one I seemed to learn the most from. His lessons and method of teaching made the most sense!
Over the year of just watching YouTube videos and playing around with Rocksmith, I felt like my learning progression for bass was going nowhere. Yeah, i can play some songs… but that’s only with Rocksmith playing so I can see what notes are coming up next. Finally gave in to the Bass Side and bought his B2B course today. Can’t wait to get into the lessons and actually learn something.
Might as well show the basses that I have. My favorite is my Ibanez 300e because of the color. I love cerulean blue! My other bass is this Squire PJ bass. I figure a PJ would give me more sound options.
One of my “music goals” is to be able to play “Stone Ocean” by Kisida Kyodan & The Akebosi Rocket. My daughter will be happy if I can do that!
Anyways, I’m glad I finally joined BassBuzz. Can’t wait to see where this take me!
Welcome @komikino , great to have you here! Those are some nice looking basses. Love the metal flake!
Heck yeah! I love that cerulean blue metallic color. Main reason I bought that bass. That and I have played Ibanez guitars in the past so I like the brand!
Welcome @komikino
Welcome, and I love that blue on the Squier.
Hello Rich from Montana here. Been loving this course and I’m happy to say I am more excited to continue.
Thank you!
Hey! That’s my name too!
Kick ass collection of basses there!
Love the blue too! That’s why I chose this over the other color of Squires.
Welcome @RichMT ! Sweet collection too! Is the semi-hollow a short scale?
You are so famous that you got recognized on your own forums. Sounds famous to me alright.
