Welcome, @JoselynJazmin. Glad you’re here. If you haven’t already, consider signing up for the Beginner to Badass course. It is the best investment a newbie bass player can ever make. Enjoy!
Welcome @JoselynJazmin !
Welcome to the nuthouse! Glad to have another inmate with us haha
Hi Gata @JoselynJazmin , welcome to the asylum…
If you haven’t already , you could consider the b2b course by Josh.
A really great way to get going on the bass
Welcome @JoselynJazmin, welcome and be careful!
Good place to be, surrounded by Gurus that will help, if you like learning and are just starting (I’m slightly ahead for a couple of months)… and from my learning experience… no question is too stupid to ask.
Why the nickname Gata, btw?
Means cat(female) in portuguese.
Welcome @JoselynJazmin !

Welcome to the group - I say that as a member of a few days standing. It’s an excellent setup.
Had an intense week of work travel and got a bit behind… welcome to all the new members!
G,day Josh. (Yes, I’m an Aussie). I’m 61 and I’ve been trying to learn an instrument for years. I did learn Piano Accordian from the age of 6 but always hated it. My parents finally let me quit at 16. Problem was, I was always more interested in the rhythm of a song and so in later life I tried out drums for a while but that tricky 4 limb independence killed me and so I thought ‘Bass Guitar’. Well that opened a new can of worms. I decided to get a acoustic bass and struggled, so I got a fretless electric and struggled more. Eventually I gave up, most of my problem being that my arthritic hands simply couldn’t handle it. A few months ago however, I came across a tiny young girl ripping the hell out of a short scale bass (YouTube Ellenplaysbass) and that inspired me to buy one of these wonderful little instruments. I got myself an Ibanez miKro and that purchase has changed my life. Finally I could move around the fretboard with relative ease and actually play some basslines (so for anyone in a similar situation, try a short scale, they sound just like a 34" but fretting is much easier on the hands) . BUT that was only half the problem. For years I had been trying to teach myself and that had obviously failed dismally. I needed help. Then I came across a YouTube clip called ’ First 50 Songs You Should Play on Bass’ by you know who and the link to this course. I decided that was the ticket. I needed a structured course and decided to spend the not inconsiderable 310 Aussie dollars and preyed it was worth it. With my previous musical knowledge I breezed through the first modules until I hit ‘Billy Jean’. Got it Medium. Fast, my fingers fall off. The main thing I wanted from this course was ‘technique’ and I’ve already learned a few things. I can see by the way you structure your lessons, I’m just at the start of things I need to know. Much looking forward to the rest of the course. Oh and the main reason this is my first post is that any questions I’ve had so far have been answered by the FAQ’s. Looking forward to the rest of the course. Cheers
