Thanks so much! Guess who helps bring in all the drummer gear!? I have built some nice muscle over the last year. Wow that stuff is heavy. And he knows… trust me. Thanks for the nice welcome. So excited to get started.

Hello,

Brand new noob. Have had 1 private lesson and enjoying Bass buzz lessons for last few days. I bought a Yamaha electro acoustic bass because most of the venues I play with my partner ; ( I currently play rhythm guitar and sing) do not allow amplification. We play mostly South American, Spanish, some folk-rock and vintage American tunes.
Any info on electro-acoustic basses most appreciated!

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place-could not find how/where to post introduction .

I agree. I am eating my way through the modules and it is rewarding to work at the clear instructions Josh gives on plucking and fretting techniques. Also muting. Really helpful and I feel the improvement.

Hi all! Started with the B2B lessons this week after spontaneously purchasing a new bass. (Ibanez MiKro). I have a “bad” habit of purchasing new instruments for fun. I can play a few relatively well (keys, French horn, flute, etc). Also, do keys/vocals at church and in a band with some friends. Trying to get good enough on bass to sub in at church if needed.

Nice to meet you all!

Welcome along @Nanette. I have a Fender electro acoustic bass. And whilst I love it you might want to consider a very small battery powered amp (if allowed) as an unamplified acoustic bass will tend to be drowned out by acoustic guitars (some are better than others). Either that or you might find you have to be uncomfortably aggressive when playing.

On my Fender I find I must be careful to play directly over the sound hole to get reasonable volume and, particularly, any amount of sustain.

Welcome @phirhoflyer ! My first electric bass was an Ibanexz Mezzo medium scale rather than the Mikro short. Have fun with it!
