Thanks for the encouragement! I think it’s helping me progress faster than average. (Less than a month of bass, I started working on “Oye Como Va”, and my instructor is impressed with my ability to follow the rhythms and not rush the rests.)
Conversely, I think musicians - especially rhythm musicians - make great dancers too. Good listening and connecting skills.

Yeah I totally agree. I came to EDM via trance, which I still like, but there’s usually not much going on with the bass line in trance. 
I’m glad to hear you’re progressing well and enjoying the process. I guess maybe I should try learning to dance. 
I do like Trance too, wil downbeat (trip hop) there’s stuff like Portishead, Massive Attack, Air wtc. that do indeed have some juicy basslines to them.
Yes, I like both those groups.
I actually like a lot of trance and prog house. Especially prog house. I will defend Deadmau5 against the haters just because of Strobe, Raise Your Weapon, and HR 8938 Cephei.
And then there’s always older stuff like Underworld, who I would probably describe as all time faves.
I love Deadmau5! Also Kaskade and Above & Beyond, to name a couple more.
