Hi @rob , welcome! Don’t worry about your age. There are a lot of older people here, myself included.
The vibes was one of the first instrument sound i fell in love with. Cal Tjader is still my favorite vibraphonist. I fell in love with the bass growing in Detroit during the heyday of the Motown era listening to the late bassist James Jamerson. Now retired I want to learn the bass. My goal by the completion of this course, is to be able to play the bassline on Stevie Wonders “Golden Lady.”
Welcome @Vertis2008 !

Howdy folks
45yo first timer here from Brighton UK- I picked up a few guitar chords during the covid shutdown but recently found myself drawn to bass and as such splashed out on a sparkly epi Embassy which to my ear at least sounds great.
Really looking forward to becoming a badass player over the coming months
Welcome everyone! Share the fun (and frustrations) here so we can all celebrate and/or cheer you on.
Oh, pretty gold! My next bass has to be something sparkly too.
Welcome along @jamiebrodie ! I spend two months of the year, from mid October to mid December in Redhill. So not a million miles from you. You’ll often catch me up on the South Downs come the weekend! Hope you enjoy your bass journey!
Hi welcome @jamiebrodie ,nice looking bass !
You don’t see a lot of epi / gibson around here
Welcome @jamiebrodie ! Nice rig ya got there!
@jamiebrodie welcome aboard!
Welcome @jamiebrodie 46 yo here. One of my favorite current bands is out of Brighton (Squid). Not sure if it’s your thing or no but I think when they aren’t on tour they still play one of the pubs in the area pretty regularly. Highly, highly suggest trying to pick up one of their sessions if you can find it.
Welcome @jamiebrodie
Have fun!
