Welcome to the forum! This is the best place to make your first post and introduce yourself to the BassBuzz forum family.
Iit’s another year, another introduce me thread, so here are some additonal random facts about your trusty bass teacher to get us started:
I got engaged to my partner Mandi last year!
I have watched The Office (American TV series) a solid 10 times to date. I’m not sure if I’m proud or embarassed. That’s what she said.
You will gradually see my vegan tattoo disappearing over the next as I continue the removal process (4 treatments in), for those of you who enjoy continuity issues in movies and TV
We also have a BassBuzz Discord for those of you who like to live chat Discord style. Here’s the link to join.
I have always wanted to learn an instrument, but never knew what to go for. Luckily, this instrument chose ME. We made eye contact from across Guitar Center and it was love at first sight. My very first bass, named after my very first love… Special Agent Fox Mulder.
I’m 27 and feel a little silly learning so late in the game, but I am excited to learn with/from you all. I’m committed to this 3-month plan (and beyond)!
Welcome! I started last year at 46, and I’m not particularly on the old end of the bell curve here. Your bass found you at the perfect time imo. You got this.
55 here… you are going to realize soon enough that you are one of the luckier ones, being so young… you can get out there and kill it for real… Myself, I am conent just putting my time into something practical, a skill (was a gamer … hardcore before… wasted too much time there.) You are starting a a great time!
Glad to see you are signed up for the B2B course… you are going to love it… Josh is an AMAZING teacher, and explains things PERFECTLY. If the course takes longer than 3 months don’t sweat it… if it takes less… also fine. It’s meant to be at your own pace.
Welcome all newcomers. You are the lowest of the low (that’s a compliment) haha, I call bass players “low downs”, a term of endearment so to speak. Anyway, glad to have you all, holler if you need anything.
Welcome. Time to get a buzz on! I was 27 once. Almost 50 years ago. I started on bass when I was 16 and asked to join a band that needed a bassist/keyboardist. I was a classically trained pianist, but instantly fell in love with the bass. The girls may have watched the lead guitarist, but they danced to me! You will not regret your choice of instrument.
Hi, my name is Arek and I got my first (rented) bass back in November and been following BassBuzz course since. I’m halfway through and try to squeeze as much time daily as possible following the modules and trying out various songs that come to my mind.
In a month I’ll have to send this bad boy back and pick up something for myself
You picked a good choice to rent! Cort is kind of a sleeper brand with some really decent instruments for the money, and their factories actually manufacture a lot of other brands’ instruments, including any Squiers made in Indonesia.
