Welcome! I picked up rthe guitar sorta seriously at the beginning of September and I’m finding the same thing in reverse. I can definitely see how bass would help coming the other way, especially if you play a lot of lead.

Hello, everyone. My name’s Ben. I’m into bands like The Sword, Red Fang, Orange Goblin, Witchcraft, Monolord, The Heavy Eyes, etc.
I just started the B2B course at almost 30 years old.
I decided to start playing because my best friend has been urging me to learn for a long time now. I want to be able to make musical projects and jam with him. He’s a guitarist and he’s the one who really immersed me into the world of music when we were in high school.

Hi, I’m Daniel from Germany and I started out on bass about four years ago. At first I wanted a guitar , went to the store several times to try out different stuff until the owner suggested I try a bass for a change. Love at first site. I left with an Ibanez SR300EB in a beautiful candy apple red and feel I’ve got much bang for my bug.
Since then I tried it on my own, trying to learn songs, trying to grasp theory videos and guess what, developed some bad habits, especially in my fretting hand. Grabbing the neck like sword hilt and only using index middle and an odd combination of pinky with the ring as support behind.
Musically I’m mostly at home with classic doom, glam and hair metal, even so I wasn’t even born at that time.
Holy Diver was the first song I tried to learn on bass and its now my exercise to get used to use all 4 fingers.

Greetings. A year ago I was having lunch with my buddy who is a professional drummer and we were talking music. I mentioned that I wish I learned bass guitar when I was young (I’m 50 now) because it always speaks to me at shows. He said “ how long have you thought this”. And I paused and said “want to go to Sam Goody?” Yep. Bought a set up that day and played by ear. Joined B2B because I was stuck playing. So happy to get some structure and be part of this community!
