Yo @frizzelldfl , similar story here as well but it was a guitar player for me. Although he never actually followed through “teaching” me how to play the bass , I stuck with the bass. I joined Bad A$$ Bass Buzz in Aug 2020 and so stoked I took the plunge.
Enjoy the lessons and just wait until that first jam session. It’s flipping addicting!!

Hi everyone, I’m Ed. Originally from The Netherlands and now living in California. I learned to play guitar for a bit and stopped playing for the next 20 years… until 2 years ago when I bought my dream Stratocaster and started over with the help from YouTube videos. It helped me connect with friends at work with a shared love for music and that inspired me to start messing around with recording on GarageBand and Ableton. I purchased a cheap used Yamaha bass when I figured it would be nice to add some bass to the mix. I really enjoyed ‘playing’ the bass and wanting to become a proper bass player I came across BassBuzz! I’ve been taking the lessons for several weeks now and reading some of the fun stuff on this forum. Just finished the Billie Jean module (yes full speed is a real struggle) and this seems to be a good time to log on and introduce myself. My goal is to have fun playing music with others in the near future.

Welcome, I’m with you on the Labella deep talking flats, I have the made for Mustang ones on 2 short scale basses. Took me a while to find out ‘my sound’ but these seem to do it for me…good luck with bass journey
