It was with the Marching Ravens. Pregame, halftime we played with the band and did some of the third quarter breaks. We were doing something similar to Western Carolina University with guitars/keys/drum set to do rock oriented shows. Ultimately the band president feared that the rock band was going to replace the band at large and was able to get rid of the “rhythm section” (terrible name, I know). But it was a fun run longer than most cover bands. Got to play to 70k and had great seats for the game.
That is too awesome. Man, that has to be a rush!
Hi - nice to meet you all. I’ve been jamming with my friends for several months and everyone was a guitarist so I picked up a G&L JB2 Tribute and have just been playing tabs for a bunch of songs. My technique is not great so I joined BassBuzz to try to learn how develop correct fundamentals and be able to know what it means to play along with folks when the say “let’s do a blues jam in A”

Nice to meet you and Welcome!
Welcome @MysteryAchievement !
Hi Everyone, I started The After Dinner Ukulele Society www.adukes.org about 12 years ago. Two years later I bought a Kala mahogany hollow Ubass to play along with the group. I played it for a year and then stopped. Recently I have been bitten by the bass bug again and signed up for Josh’s course. I am about to begin module 4. I am 77 years old. Perhaps a bit old to learn a new instrument but I am young mentally. I know this because my wife is always telling me to grow up. I have my eye on a Kala solid body Ubass for when I get a bit better.
Here are photos of my 3 choices. I can’t decide on which one to get. I’m hoping to enjoy the forum. I am enjoying practicing the bass. Not so much setting up for practice. I have a Phil Jones Big Head practice amp which I love.

Definitely into continuity, thanks. If I could be so bold to ask why, you could be so bold to say ‘nunya’.
Hello!
Im sach, just started bass. have a 10 yr background in playing cello, and recently also started playing flute.
main music interests include neo soul/funk/hip hop/jazz kind of blends. FKJ/masego type stuff. picked up a cheap squire debut precision.. not the greatest but excited to learn to see if its something I want to invest into. at which ill buy a better model.
Looking forward to the lessons and learning more for the community! would appreciate any tips on learning more of these music styles on bass
