We love drummers here, you are the other of the rhythm section and we usually blam you when we mess up,
Welcome. You are not too old. Many of us if not most are a few years older.

Welcome, @joshuaryder. Glad you’re here. With a name like Josh, you are destined to be a bass player. Enjoy!
I was hoping that would lend some extra ability
Happy New Year! My name is Lori, and I started the Beginner to Badass lessons back on Dec. 1st. Enjoying everything Josh is putting out so far! In my mid 50s at this point, but picked up my first bass at 15 and taught myself some songs by ear and bad habits early on. Put the bass down for awhile and picked up drums, now back on bass working with some other newbies in a Rock-school band type setting. Really wish all these lessons were around when I started way back when, but better late than never. The lessons have really rekindled my love for bass.
Current gear is a Washburn Taurus T-24 bass and a couple of Ampeg combo amps. Have my eye on a MusicMan Stingray Special that should be gracing my doorstep soon!
Influences are Steve Harris from Iron Maiden and Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath.
A LOT of us have said this Glad you are enjoying the course! Josh is the BEST teacher!
Welcome to the shenanigans @LoriK
Hello and Happy New Year! I’ve been playing for three days total. I decided to try and learn to play the bass after listening to my daughter practice guitar for the past two years. My first musical adventure in 30 years – far too long.
Hi, great to hear! Can you share the luthier’s name?
Welcome @brian10 ! Will be handy having someone to jam with all the time!
Welcome, @LoriK. Glad you’re here. Any time someone discovers B2B is the right time to learn proper bass playing. Enjoy the lessons!
Welcome, @brian10. Glad you’re here. Beginner today, badass tomorrow. Enjoy!
Lignum art.
These are what they crafted for me.
Fretless
Short scale multiscale
Oh it also glows in the dark.
And my new fave 23” scale single cut 5 string
Not gonna lie… that glow in the dark bass… Imma steal it!!
