Welcome @backcountry.dave !
Hi, Evan here from the big skys of the rocky mountains of Alberta Canada. I played bass in high-school after 20 years. Lately ive been dealing with some personal issues and have decided to continue my journey as a musician that was lost to me becoming a young father. Ive always wanted to play since i was a very young boy in very remote northern Alberta. Im doing it now and it feels great. I haven’t felt so good about myself in years and im looking forward to communicating and sharing stories with everyone.

Welcome @evan8816 !
Hello everyone very fresh bass student from Finland reporting in.
I played guitar for a couple of years, many years ago, but I lost motivation when even after all that time I wasn’t able to play anything that I found cool or interesting. That then led me to give up on music, but recently and out of nowhere I developed an interest in learning how to play the bass.
I picked up a Harley-Benton JB-20 on the cheap (impatiently I’m already weighing my options for what to upgrade to later on) to see if I can keep up with the regular practice, and I’ve now worked my way up to module 3 after online testimonials recommended this course to me. It’s going smoothly so far.
Musically I mainly listen to a lot of metal and video game soundtracks in various styles, as well as a bit of jazz and city pop. My other main interests besides music are video games (fighting games in particular) and the Linux ecosystem.

Welcome @Pelimatic Similar to you, I picked up a Harley Benton JB-75 and am constantly contemplating an upgrade. Also a big fighting game fan, I recently spent a very enjoyable and frustrating few months rewriting my brain to learn to use a leverless controller for SF6. Got there in the end but it was a real struggle.
Anyway, hope you like it here!
Welcome @Pelimatic

Welcome ! @Pelimatic enjoy the course
Hi all,
I have been lurking for quite a while, but it’s time to introduce myself. My name is Alicia.
I have been playing around with instruments my whole life, but never got past the beginner stage. (piano, flute, ukulele, cello, viola, tin whistle, tenor saxophone, bassoon, guitar) I would get bored, spend more time reading about it than practicing, and then be sidetracked by a different instrument or other hobby.
When I found bass, it seemed to be The One. That said, life got in the way and I still struggled on and off for several years to get past the beginning stages. About 6 months ago, I started taking private lessons and finally began to make progress! Unfortunately, I can’t find room in the budget anymore. I am so glad I found B2B. Right now I am burning through the first few modules and solidifying the fundamentals.
I really enjoy jazz, but I like many other styles of music. With my teacher, we were working through some of the jazz standards, so I plan to try to keep up with that as secondary practice as I go through the course.
