Been here a few weeks, but I don’t think I’ve introduced myself. I’ve “played guitar” since my teenage years. Quotes because I’ve never been good enough to claim I actually play it. A few years ago I started learning Scruggs style banjo, and it’s been tons of fun, which leads me to now. I’ve always had an interest in bass, but only now have I gotten serious enough to get started. Last Sunday I carried one of my guitars down to Guitar Center hoping to trade for a bass. I know, I could have gotten so much more if I had sold it outright to an individual, but selling is such a pain, and I just didn’t want to deal with it. People might think I’m crazy, but I made a deal with my wife to make a trade rather than spending more money on my hobbies. I had a great experience at GC. In fact, I was able to get my bass, case, strap, strap locks, cable, and amp, with no money out of pocket. Needless to say, I was ecstatic. As soon as I got home, I signed up for B2B and went through my first lesson. Since I have a lot of time playing stringed instruments, the first few lessons are pretty basic for me, but I don’t want to form bad habits (I’m sure I have anyway) so I am following the plan as if I know nothing. I am hoping to wrap up module four today. If you have read this far, I just want to say thanks. I know it’s a lot.
