Started at 54! Never too late, I only wish I’d started at your age!
Hi, what is a “Vegan Tattoo”? thanks
Hi everyone, thanks for the welcome and friendly nature
I’m a Kiwi in my 50’s been playing Bass Guitar since the 1980’s
I still practice every day it’s great for the brain and the soul
Some of my favourite artists are:
Prince, Miles Davis, Afghan Whigs, The The, The Smiths, Joy Division / New Order , David Bowie, Kate Bush, Paul Weller, Joan Armatrading, Straitjacket Fits - Dimmer, John Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Sonny Rollins
I like football - Wellington Phoenix and West Bromwich Albion specifically
Rugby League - NZ Warriors and Canterbury Bulldogs
NFL - Cincinatti Bengals
After plodding along pretty much on my own for about 6 months I enrolled in B to B. I am on lesson 6 and am really
enjoying Josh’s teaching and all the additional material. This forum is really great, I very much appreciate the connection. Thanks for the welcome!
Welcome, @woodbird2000. Glad you’re here. Just follow Josh and he’ll have you grooving PDQ. Enjoy the lessons!
Never heard of them. What kind of foot ball is that?
Proper football
round ball, 11v11
Phoenix are in the A League
WBA in the English Championship
Yeah that’s the kind of foot ball I grew up with not the kind I’m living with. The one I’m living with only one player use his foot the rest use their hands. That’s why it’s called football?
Hi everybody - 55yo Super Noob but with a killer ZZ Top long white beard (it keeps catching in my strap). I’m crazy intimidated because my wife is a professional musician (rock cello) but the good news is I get her hand-me-downs (she runs a Line 6 Helix so I’m running thru her old Boss ME70 - makes things so much more fun!!!). I took the dive by buying the cheapest thing I could find on Craigslist (Epiphone EB3, mudbucker and all) and promised myself I won’t buy anything better until I finish this course! I did the free lesson 1 and am hooked so here…we…go!
This must be the famed banana tattoo🙂
(The forum doesn’t like the banana emoji it seems!)
Nooo! Not the Banana! How will we tell how big things are if we don’t have his banana for scale?!
Welcome @reeccee ! You are gonna LOVE the course Josh is an AMAZING teacher!
Hi, all. I’m a second-time beginner in my 50s. I’ve played drums since I was 12, but I always wanted to play bass, too.
I picked up my first bass 10 years ago and dabbled enough to play a couple of sets with a church praise team, as well as write and record a few bass parts for a guitarist friend of mine for some songs he wrote.
My bass had been collecting dust for about eight years, and I just decided to have a second go at learning it properly and try to get better. I’m starting from the very beginning and enjoying the courses so far.
I’m excited about my journey here and I look forward to meeting many of you along the way. I know I’ll have questions.
A LOT of us here are… you are not alone! lol
Glad you are enjoying the course … Josh makes it super hard not to!

Have you seen this old commercial that includes two of your favorites, David Bowie and a Bengals quarterback?
Late in the game you are not. I plucked my first note at 58!
Welcome, @reecee. Glad you’re here. Man, a wife who plays rock cello. Sounds equally terrifying and extremely cool. Enjoy the lessons!
