Hello Bass People.
I’ve been knocking around in the forum for a while and didn’t realize there was an Introduce Yourself (DOH). An IT guy for most of my career. Garage band drummer long ago. 2 months of piano also long ago. Been playing radio for most of my life - ya, radio - remember those? Love strong bass parts in music. Tony Kanal, Roger Walters, McVie are among my favs. There are so many new strong bassists and high energy music - amazing stuff. I love all music - period. Retired about 10 years ago and became involved with a variety of activities - Fishing, landscape astrophotography, RVing, promoting responsible care of lakes & streams.
Way back when I was 76, I woke up one day and decided it would be fun to learn to play electric bass instead of just listening to it. I bought a TRBX 304 last October and went thru a few months of Fender Play. It was good - I learned a lot but found the approach was not quite right for me. I’m now in module 5 of B2B and while some is old news to me I am not inclined to skip ahead because of Josh’s progression and little gems he inserts along the way, Yes, Billie Jean is tough at speed but looking forward to returning to it. Not sure what will come of my efforts other than YouTube play along and maybe a part in a small church group, but it’s giving me a sense of enjoyable accomplishment.
I will definitely be seeking assistance in the forum as I travel through this journey.
PS - I’m impressed with the knowledge, good nature and willingness to help in this forum.

Hello! I’m 29, and I got a bass for my birthday. I’m absolutely in love. I’ve always been terrified of string instruments but bass is just perfect and sounds awesome. I’m teaching myself slowly because I have hand/wrist pain. My current song goal is “Metal: Brute Justice Mode” (THE PRIMALS version) from FFXIV (and if you’re familiar with the game, I also want to learn “Locus” and “eScape” and “Return to Oblivion” and so many others).

I’ve been playing tenor saxophone for maybe fifteen years now and have been in wind ensembles for just as long. I have music fundamentals, but only in treble clef  Music is a hobby for me; my lifelong dream is to collect every instrument in the wind ensemble and learn them, but I have a very long way to go. (I have a flute, my sax, a clarinet that I still have to repair, and a plastic trumpet. Humble beginnings…)

Thanks for reading! Hope you all have a great day :]
