Welcome Paul @atcspaul enjoy your bass journey
Hello everyone.
I am Jan from Germany. Have been playing for 18 years, but feel like I have skirted about properly learning the fundamentals and have felt stuck for a few years. Also made the mistake of not playing at all for a few years during university. So what better way than to start with a Beginner to Badass course. Already caught myself doing some things differently (for example, I always pluck with my middle finger first).
Glad to be here and I am NOT skipping a single workout, even though the first ones are really simple for me

Hi and welcome along @Wilde_Bass , @helsbass , @Biku , @atcspaul and @DeltaForCain !
Hi All - Got my first bass in over 35 years (used to play when I was at school)!
I love my new Yammie 174 in a gorgeous metallic blue.
Loving the course so far… The bug has really struck!
Added a Fender 25LT Rumble to the set-up this week… Again, great value for the money.
I am a married Dad of two girls (both away a Uni here in the UK), so my Bass is my new “toy” to play with, whilst my wife is making clothes!
Looking forward to chatting with everyone.

Welcome @Westy !
Hi there,
My name is Anja and I’m from Germany. Although I joined the B2B course and the forum around 2 weeks ago and already interacted with a few of you, I have missed introducing myself. I guess I hesitated because I felt like I’m the only one who started playing bass at an older age (turned 60 this year). But this forum showed me that I’m NOT the only one - I realized that there are many people joining the course and/or the forum who are 50 and above. This is a relief for me. In my opinion, you’re never too old to learn new things and an old dog can pretty well learn new tricks, but nevertheless I felt the age to be some kind of a hurdle, especially due to the comments in my direct environment (“don’t you think you are too old to learn that?”). However, nobody has ever managed to talk me away from something that I really want - and I want to learn bass. Now I’m in Module 5 of the course, I went through the first modules quite quickly as I knew already most of the things covered in there, but I haven’t missed one single lesson. What I can say now for sure is:
- I’m not as bad in playing bass as I actually thought.
- Billie Jean is not my lover, she’s a wicked b¡tch (but I will come back and get her).
However, I’m totally flashed about the course and the great bass community in this forum, and finally I have found people to talk bass with, which is f*cking awesome.Big thanks to @JoshFossgreen for being an awesome teacher & big thanks to y’all for being around.
Welcome @Anja
Have fun!
Welcome, @Anja. Glad you’re here. Bass beckons people when it does, and those wise enough to heed that call are the winners. Enjoy the lessons!
