Hello everyone ! I am Régis from France, 54 years old.
I’m a hobbyist pianist/keyboards player since more than 35 years but has always felt great interest for the bass, which is according to me one of the most important instruments, building the bridge between rhythm and harmony.
I took the occasion of my 54th anniversary (25 days ago 
) to ask my family to offer me a bass (Sire Marcus Miller V3 TS 2nd Gen). Better late than never 
. It’s the very first time I touch a bass and I wanted to do it right, so I’ve subscribed to @JoshFossgreen ‘s courses 
(Good french courses are existing, but I really appreciate the feeling and good mood that Josh shares).
I just love it ! As a musician I already have a good sense of the rythm and It’s not as difficult as I first feared (I have of course everything to learn from 0, but Josh’s lessons help to take good habits). My very first goal is now achieved: being able to play Roxanne from Police (at my humble beginner’s level), Walking on the Moon and some easiest ones as Zombies, With or Without you, etc. I can’t wait to learn more and to learn it right !
Happy to be there and to have joined your big family (sorry for my English, as you have seen I’m no native english writer) !

Hello all. Name is Chris. 43 year old here in Florida.
I have always loved listening to music (mostly metal/hard rock) since I was a teenager. I decided to learn guitar when I was in my mid-20’s. However, long work daily work schedules, marriage and children resulted in a lot of inconsistency for practice and lessons. Plus my “instructor” was a DVD which should have been titled “Learning guitar with Mr. Rodgers.” It was terribly boring and I lost interest.
I also used to attend a lot of concerts in the 2000’s before moving to Alaska and then rural Florida. I dont get to see a lot these days plus many of my favorite bands are hanging it up. I did recently stream Ozzy’s “Back to the Beginning” show live and there was something about it that lit that fire underneath me to learn an instrument again. (Probably Tool’s performance). This time I thought I’d give bass a try.
I have a 16 year old musical virtuoso who can almost play anything decently and a 13 year old who is learning drums. I would love to just jam as a family one day and maybe get on a stage down the road. I’m loving the bassbuzz course so far and, unlike my guitar experience, I’m having a lot of fun!

Hey all! I’m Andy. I’ve been lurking here for a while, but finally decided to introduce myself.
Sometime last spring I made a comment that I’d always kinda wanted to learn bass. That prompted my wife, who has been playing ukulele for several years, to buy me a Kala U-Bass for my 41st birthday. I signed up for Josh’s course, and got going.
I’ve since finished the course once, and acquired a Squire p-bass (with flatwounds), and an Orange Crush 50.
My goal is to someday be able to play “Maxwell Murder.”
