Hi guys I’m a newbie here, only afew days in and I have to say since I’ve joined my desire to keep picking up the bass and get stuck in has significantly increased. Really enjoying the lessons. I’m an older dude being 61 years young and a drummer all my life…but always loved the bass. I’ve bought and soled a few in the passed and never really knuckled down to really learn the instrument. I dont play drums anymore and have been creating electronic music at home just for pleasure and always find myself spending way to long playing the excellent bass sounds on the Roland fantom 06 workstation I use. I have great timing (at least i like to think i have given I’ve been getting away with it for years…
)and my feel for a bass line isnt an issue but just lacking knowledge and some much needed skill sets. So now instead of noodling and trying to play songs way beyond my capabilities I finally decided to get some real lessons….and so far so good. Really enjoying the experience. Looking forward to getting on with all the modules and finally kinda know what I’m doing..

B2B is a great way to get started for sure. The only thing the lessons need is for @JoshFossgreen to somehow change his voice to that of James Earle Jones or Sean Connery. Lol
Kidding, very easy on th ears for those of us with bad tinnitus.

Josh has the right template for teaching which nearly every instructor lacks. Well worth the price of admission for sure. My goal is just to play the music I enjoyed back in my 20s with the band. We had originals and also played anything that Randy Rhoads recorded. The guitar player was amazing and the three of us would play the first two albums every night then our originals. I attempted to play my original songs and cannot do it. Hope to by the time I finish the course. Rudy Sarzo is one of my favorites.

Hi everyone! My name is Aaron, or Astra, from Hawaii! I’m sorry, this has been such a long time coming (I started on Jan 5th this year, and I’m on Module 10…), but I just got too excited to run the course and kept putting it off haha! Josh just makes it so much fun and I keep going.
I had some music experience prior to the course, having played tuba from 7th-12th grade. I guess bass is just in my blood haha. I’m also self taught on piano and often play keys for worship at my church. So that helped me run through the first few modules fairly quickly, in addition to being addicted! Around module 7 I decided I should slow down, that way I can enjoy the experience longer and absorb more of the lessons. I’m definitely gonna run through it a second time once down to really nail the basics.
My first bass was an Ice Blue Yamaha BB434, and I absolutely love it. She’s so pretty, I WANT to take her out and play. GAS hit me kinda hard so I bought a Sapphire Blue Kala Solid Body to have as a portable bass to bring with me whenever I go out. No buyer’s regrets at all! I’ve been using a JOYO BA-30 as my practice amp, and man that thing is great value.
I’m super excited to continue through the course and to meet and get to know everyone here. The bass community seems so welcoming!
The course is seriously awesome. Having not practiced Billie Jean at all since the benchmark, I decided to give it a run when I finished module 9, and my God, I definitely saw major improvements. This course is AMAZING!
