I hope so. It’s always good to see you.
That’s great Pam!!
Weight will come again naturally, once you beat that thing!
Many many wishes XX
Well my fellow bass buzzers, I have another update for you. I was hoping to be able to report that I’ve beaten cancer for a second time, but alas, the battle rages on with some collateral damage.
Last week I had a MRI, and this morning a PETscan. This afternoon I met with the doctors and received some news that I was halfway expecting, but not quite prepared for.
The tumor on my tongue has grown larger, and has spread to my voice box. They’re going to have to perform surgery to remove the tumor from my tongue and also completely remove my voice box. The plan is to perform the amputations and also perform reconstructive surgery at the same time. I’m told the operation will take around 13 hours and will require several days in the hospital.
First, they have to get me in to get the feeding tube inserted because I won’t be able to eat or drink afterwards. I’m awaiting a phone call to schedule that procedure. I had a feeding tube during my last bout with cancer, and actually took the B2B course with my bass resting on the tube
They’re fast-tracking everything because they want to get the cancer out before it spreads any further. Im anticipating this all happening within the next few weeks.
Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to speak after this surgery. Fortunately, I’ve been married to a deaf person for ten years, so I’m already accustomed to communicating via ASL and text.
I’ll still have my fingers to play piano and bass, and of course to continue annoying everyone here on the forum
Life is good and I’ll keep smiling.
Pam
Much love and respect to you, Pam. I wish you comfort and peace.
