Ah, yes, I see, when recording MIDI there is no Take2, but it layers the notes - that is a possibility, albeit a bit weird, as you’d lay down all the roots first, and then the thirds (or whatever) in the next pass and so on. Possible, but a bit strange.

So, yes, I was hoping to input notes without playing the track (so: not “recording”, but penciling in using the keys on a keyboard). That would be cool…

This is referred to as “Step Input” in most tools.

Ah, I was sure this is possible and looked for a few minutes to figure out how but didn’t get to the term step input. This seems like a great way to program double kick drums with many cymbal hits!

I am so hardwired to using the piano roll editor for drums at this point anything else would be harder :rofl:

Anyway, most DAW should have this.
