Multiple Bass Disorder (MBD)

@T_dub

Haha, what an insightful review! So what we’re saying is that there’s enough room for another 25 or so basses? Excellent! Who’s buying them is a different kettle of fish though :slight_smile:

True - I like having them to hand, along with any other instrument. When friends come around, depending on who they are and what they play, there’s normally something visible that people can grab and just get on with it. Gives the room a nice vibe too - all music.

Ok, I will work on that with my stellar ability to eat great deals upon request.

Not even mentioning the past ones on request. Just 3 days ago I was asking @howard about his Nether Octaver pedal, saying I was going to buy one. Well, I didn’t get it the next day because it was not available for curbside pick up in Fountain Valley, were the other pedal I got was. I didn’t want to make a trip to Lake Forest that day since I am going down there Monday, so I figured I would wait.
Well, waiting does not always pay off, often the good deals are gone, but not now. I wait one day, and what should show up on Offer Up the next day.
A TC Electronics Nether Pedal for $30. Now it’s a little over half off, but still a good deal.

Plus it’s kind f a random pedal. It’s not like a Big Muff, or a Bosstuner that is a dime a dozen. It’s not even like a TC Electronics Sub n Up, or a Boss Octave 2 or Octaver 3 which are pretty common, it is exactly what I asked for, A not so well known TC Electronics Nether.

So…
E Rum
What was it you wanted??

For how much?

We can get it, just ask @juli0r about the rumble

@T_dub Brilliant :rofl:

$30 for a Nether is a good deal, but don’t sweat it if you miss it. They run about $42+tax new around here at least.

If you commonly see Boss OC-2’s, check the price - the Nether is an OC-2 clone.

They do seem uncommon though yeah!

Yes. Yes. The thing with the rumble worked.

It still has to arrive but I can’t imagine being something wrong with it.

Oh man. I almost had a stroke when reading the tracking updates for the package.
“Saturday, 30.05.2020 13:26, Moist

After overcoming the initial shock I realized that “Moist” (Feucht) is the location of the package center. Why the f#* would anyone build a package center in f#*ing Moist. I feel like I was being trolled by the guy who planned the location of DHL package centers in germany.

Does that Seafoam Green dream have a satin neck? If she were a PJ with the jazz neck, she’d be perfect for me!

Yes, it’s got a satin finish on the neck.

The pickups are definitely different to the other jazz basses I have - still not as much low end as a p bass naturally, but really good middle and highs

Now we know what your next purchase is

Good to know. I tried a lot of MIM Fenders and Squiers at Guitar Center before the “plague”, and I just didn’t like the necks-- especially the sticky glossy necks. The GC person I was talking to said, “Yeah, you’ll need a American P-Bass to get the satin neck.” I’ve got a MIM Tele that has the silkiest neck, but for some reason the MIM basses do not. My 18 year old Squier is pretty smooth, albeit with a few dings ( I bought it used). I hope to replace it someday. My Telecaster has that same Seafoam Green; I really love that color. To get it in the configuration I want, I’ll probably have to go custom shop…$$$$$$ I’m going to have to really get good before I can justify that though.

Haha. I have a nice p bass already! Be interesting to hear the American variants though

Yeah my fender vintera Mexican basses have those glossy necks. And it’s noticeable when you try the satins Vs the gloss. Definitely a smoother feel with the satin.

The Yamaha trbx304 has a similar neck to the satin - not quite as smooth though. Not sure what that neck is if I’m honest

It’s satin. Or feels like it to me.

Right. Makes sense - it’s almost identical.

The lads in here (well, mostly the lads) have convinced me to apply 3M pads and very fine sandpaper to the necks of my basses, in order to turn them from glossy to satin - so, that is always an option :smile:
