@Lanny This one is by Blackfoot. I’ve got an Allman brothers tune lined up to do next.

Hey Mac - Good to hear from you - That would be my Yamaha TRBX174EW that I have set up as my BEAD bass… It was my second bass (first being the black Squire from years ago). It’s also the bass I took the B2B course with.

Keep on Thumpin’!

Good to see you to mate errr bro :sunglasses: :joy:

I didn’t realise that you had a Yamaha bass !
Oh man I have bad GAS at the moment and I must confess I do have a couple of Yamaha’s on my eBay watch list mainly due to @PamPurrs and @howard . Now you have one in you’re collection the influence voice has gotten louder.

Blackfoot @PamPurrs!
Saw them at Hull City hall when I was 17 and they rocked. The support band was called Samson with a young Bruce Dickinson on vocals shortly before he began his role of front man for Iron Maiden.
A great concert all round

This beautiful flat black with red trim baby is on it’s way, and FedEx says I’ll have it Thursday (May 20). I got a killer deal on a gently used one from Reverb.

I’m already practicing my next cover, which I’ll do on the ESP.
Thanks @John_E for the recommendation.

They are a great brand, congrats!

My first bass (which I still have) was an ESP. Definitely think you will enjoy it.

I certainly hope so. I bought it strictly on looks (it’s very cool looking to me).
Now that it’s on it’s way, I’ve been doing some research on Frank Bella. When I watch the interviews with him, he comes across as a cool guy and a straight shooter . He says this model was made specifically to his specs and aimed at low budget bass players like me.

Frank Bella seems to be a nice guy. I like that he has only 1 pedal on his pedalboard. Doesn’t complicate it. Also like his music.

Frank Bello is really cool, and a great finger player.
Funny he says BUDGET, because it cost more then the Tom Arraya signature bass.
Well, the budget end basses, his is more, but on the top end, his is quite a bit less. I don’t think his has a MID level model, where the Tom Araya model does, and might be why they can strip it down further and make an even cheaper one.

Yeah, for sure, and I think he is HIGHLY UNDERRATED.
Even on the Spectre Media Group (Glenn Fricker, the I HATE BASS PLAYERS guy) I have seen do things like,

"Unless you are a FREAKING BASS PLAYER, you guys are idiots
** UNLESS you are named Les Claypool, The late great Cliff Burton, Steve harris, THE GUY FROM ANTHRAX etc…"**

You get my point, he doesn’t even remember his name is Frank Bello, that is how highly underrated he is.

He also lists the guy from Faith No More, but I can’t remember his name, and I didn’t want to say THE GUY FROM FAITH NO MORE, because it would have taken away from the point I was making. I think he has a few others on the list too.

He also talks about some amazing bass players he has worked with, and totally respects and appreciates the role of bass in a band.
He loves a good bass player and good bass lines, and even plays bass, BUT he just finds MOST OFTEN IN HIS STUDIO, that the bass player is the worst guitar player in the band, and is the worst because of effort, and attention to detail, is lazy and just doesn’t give a F#$K.

So there is a method to his madness.

Congratulations @PamPurrs! The question is where will you place the rose sticker?

That bass is very striking, with the black & red combo, @PamPurrs . . .

Two more days to go! Hope you enjoy it

@PeteP - I used to shoot 3-gun competitively before I retired from the military. Now I’m slowly selling off equipment from that hobby to finance this new bass hobby (seriously, 4 in the first year, what’s wrong with me?).

But my point is that the wife is pretty happy that I’ve actually chosen a “less expensive hobby” - for now. I am still practicing and I feel like I don’t “deserve” something awesome (and pricey) just yet - and that’s good because I’m still finding out what I like. We’ll see how she feels when I “deserve” that Ernie Ball MM or MIA JB someday.

I have the Sterling Ball Short Scale in Daphne Blue - didn’t choose the color - just found the right price and it happened to be that color - but it has seriously grown on me.

Maybe someday I’ll look for the full Music Man upgrade too!

That’s a great color actually. No shame there!

Average really

5 basses and a 6 string in two years for me.

Down to two basses now, haven’t decided on going farther yet.
