My First Pedalboard!

Actually I got one of these, very handy.

My power strip is buried next to the wall where it’s a lot of bending over to get to it, so I went wireless . . .

We tend to have different design over here… must be linked to the different sockets and voltage (220V) :slightly_smiling_face:

Yeah, I started looking them up on Reverb a little while ago, after reading this thread.

Pretty hard to handle, that one

I have no doubt. It’s a pretty extreme pedal. Definitely doesn’t do subtle anything.

I’ve been enamored with it since I came up with this one bass line I’ve been playing. When I heard that wooly fuzz, I knew it would be perfect for what I’m working on.

One day. :imp:
One day, I tell you!
It. Will. Be. Mine. :smiling_imp:

Here’s my pedalboard. I use this pedalboard mainly to fatten up my tone. Sometimes I swap the BB-1X for a OC-3. I practice a lot with my DG Element headphone/cabsim pedal (top left corner) to keep the neighbours happy. The Helix Stomp is a stompbox which I initially bought for my guitar but I use it for bass too, I’ve used it in my FX loop or as standalone stompbox. It’s all powered with adapters… but I do have a mini T-rex power supply stashed somewhere

@JoshFossgreen I took your advice and switched my octave pedal so it’s right after the compressor and before the Tube Screamer, chorus, and reverb. I’ll see if I can detect a difference.

How do you like the BB-1X.
I have the BC-1X, and I like it a lot, but my board is compressor heavy and I am gonna be getting rid of one of them and I think this is the one I am gonna sell.
My other two are
SanJune GB-CP ($66 Amazon optical compressor that is pure gold)
Keeley Bassist.

I bought the Keeley to flip cuz I got it for a steal, but I fell in love with it after just doing a quick power up test on it, so ehh, probably gonna get rid of the Boss. It is a great compressor tho.

BB-1X is nice for making your bass sound bold and punchy. For heavy distortion I think there are better options out there. For me personally this pedal was perfect because it acts as a preamp and I like a little bit of drive in my bass.

I love compressors too! I was thinking of getting a Keeley, DG or even a Cali in the future. I don’t think I would ever sell my BC-1X tho

That SanJune looks cool!

for the price it is amazing. good optical compression, so sounds really organic on the right settings.

Been kicking around the idea of getting something with a bit more bite then my darkglass vintage to piss off the neighbors. I’ve kind of decided that for both money and space concerns that if I get a new pedal then something has to go. So I sold my mooer radar. Seems like I’ve had that pedal 5 times now. It’s fun, but I’m pretty happy with my new amp’s house sound. I was looking hard at the DG B3k. But decided to try the cheaper and smaller DSM sub atomic.

It certainly looks the part, very cool. And it does give a really nice heavy sound. Keep it? For a while, probably. It is, for me, kind of a one trick pony and I think the DG would give me a wider range of useful sounds along with the crunch.

Again, LOL. That is funny.
I don’t know how I feel about these IR things. I am not so sure if I want to get one or not. I mean, I can tweak my sound on the computer with about anything you can think of, either free or for purchase, so I am not really thinking I would use one much.
Plus, I have the Line6 Bass Pod Pro rack mount, and I may be getting a Carvin BX500 amp, which looks like it can get some really good bass tones on it’s own.
I found an EBS drive pedal I might try. i am sure its a one trick pony, but still, could be fun when I want it.
Can you make any sample recordings of that Sub Atomic?

Haven’t really started to figure out recording yet but this is pretty much the same as what I got. Which is good, don’t get me wrong. You’re just not going to get much more than crunchy. Nice stingray too.
