Some of their stuff is even more spartan, like the HX Effects. But it really seems to me that the current sub-Helix Line 6 lineup is meant to be set up in the associated software and just triggered/tweaked with the UI on the unit. The HX Stomp has fewer controls than a B1four, not counting the three footswitches (which is nice.) The display looks OK though.

Got my MXR Envelope Filter today. Here is the current gang, most of which have been added since the new year:
Also have a Zoom B1 Four I don’t use much anymore.
I think that’s enough pedals to finally justify a pedalboard . Still trying to decide between Temple DUO 24 and Pedaltrain Classic.
I plan to add a compressor and some kind of octave pedal, and then try and cool it on the pedals for a while

I’m having a hard time adjusting to the idea they go on the floor. The knobs are a long and painful bend away.

My advice on buying the board itself - save money, buy the most el cheapo rack of a board you can that is still solid, and put the money into the power supply instead.
Unless you spend a lot on one of the modular systems, the board itself has very little difference in utility between a $30 used Donner and a $150 new PedalTrain. It’s just a metal rack you cover in velcro. Spend as little as you can on it.

@DaveT with you on that, it’s a pain to tweak/experiment when they’re all the way down there lol. once I get them on a board I plan to have them on a stand or something at home.

@skydvr ha I do still use it for the looper and drum tracks. just doesn’t stay in the chain. I highly recommend getting one though, great intro to effects.

Seriously, you will barely even see the board once the pedals are on it. It’s a complete non-issue to go cheap. As long as it is solid, the cheap one is just as good as the expensive one. It’s literally like a coat hanger for the floor.
If you want to spend (a lot) more, you can get the excellent modular systems that do away with the need for velcro, and have cool LEDs and stuff. But for a basic board, it’s just a black metal rack that you never really even see.

@skydvr I got the one without. Mostly to keep it simple, but I also remember reading the expression pedal was pretty limited as far as to which settings it could be applied.
