My First Pedalboard!

This or the Vintage Ultra! I actually don’t play heavy metal etc., but the Darkglass preamps are very versatile!

So do you!

Wish I bought that one when I was fully into pedals.

That’s perfect, lol!

Don’t put off enjoying something until you don’t want it anymore.

Yeah if I hadn’t moved to plugins I would definitely want a Tyler.

Love the BB in the vid of course too. That’s @PamPurrs old bass

If I recall correctly Frank Itt is also an official Yamaha artist.

Here’s my first pedalboard.

Signal chain is:

  • [TC Polytune 3 Noir Tuner (arrives next week)]
  • MXR M87 compressor
  • EHX Green Russian Big Muff
  • TC Electronic Spark booster
  • Tone City Dry Martini overdrive
  • BDI-21 pre-amp

I’ll put the power supply underneath at some point but I’ll need to raise the feet a little to fit it, so for now it can sit on top.

The Spark booster and the Dry Martini are actually in a bit of a role reversal. The Spark is adding a nice colour to my tone and a little warm OD if needed. It’ll probably be always on. While the Dry Martini (a cheapie OD I bought for my guitar a few years ago) is actually very clean if the gain is dialed all the way anti-clockwise, so I’ll just step on that occasionally for a bit of extra volume for choruses etc.

Probably didn’t need such a big (well, medium-sized) pedalboard (Pedaltrain Metro 20) but there’s room to grow, as with the power supply. This could be good or bad of course!

Very new to all this - any thoughts / advice? Cheers.

nice pedal board, but sideways pedals really triggers my adhd

I know what you mean, but it’s either that or get a much taller pedalboard  (I really did want room to expand).

Things I want to add when funds allow:

  • EHX Bass Clone chorus (after the Big Muff)
  • Octaver (maybe TC Sub N Up or a used MXR Bass Octave Deluxe)

Highly recommend this, both the Bass Clone and that specific combo.

Yep, your earlier recommendation of this combination in some thread somewhere is a large part of the reason

Ahh cool

Absolutely love that combination.

I would go for a used MXR Bass Octaver if you had to pick between the TC and MXR.

I am the exact opposite. I had an MXR Vintage Bass Octave and replaced it with a Sub 'N Up mini.

I simply love the OC-2 clones, for all their innate synthy weirdness.
