The new Ampeg bass preamp has arrived! $399.00
Ampeg SGT-DI Bass Preamp Pedal and DI | Sweetwater
The big question for me…
Can the SGT-DI displace the Tech21 VT Bass DI?

Just wait a few more days - either @John_E or @Al1885 will have one by the weekend, I am sure They can tell you all about it on Monday
Seems like a real cool pedal!
(@Paul just mentioned it in the GAS thread also!)
Hahahahaha. Not here.
I’ll all bought out after that bari sax.
This one actually sounds more like an Ampeg than the SCR-DI.
Lol, I’m not really a pedal guy.
I don’t need one, but I want one!
Here’s a big thread over at TalkBass…
Very cool - worth swapping out the SCR-DI for? Ampeg – Bass guitar amplification
Not a lot of real information in there yet but one person has already got one after ordering the same day the SGT-DI came out. So far it’s just opinions and promises of reviews.
One cool thing about this, we can expect a flood of the previous model (SCR-DI) hitting the used market. Which will be great for anybody needing a good headphone amp.

Except that the drive sounds like ass
The SCR-DI itself is fine overall but the Scrambler does indeed suck bad (IMO).

This is not wrong.
If the clean is good and if the used prices drop, why not
I was that guy who went out and bought that ampeg 115 with built in scrambler combo
Amp is great! scrambler not so much!
Oh dear. Finally listened to this pedal. Wow.
I didn’t go for the Origin Effects BassRig vintage pedal because of no B-15N but man this one has everything and sounds great. Might just be replacing my VT-bass DI after all.
VT-bass DI
if the prices of the VT Bass DI drop, it will be interesting, at least for me
Nate is fantastic but entire demo is invalidated by the fact that he evaluated an Ampeg preamp without once using a P-Bass.
The Spector doesn’t count
Might just be replacing my VT-bass DI after all.
Told ya

It wasn’t exactly long odds
