And they threw Backbone in for free too.
Yeah… And lately, as my kid grows up - and I’m regaining my time, I’m on a GAS spree. Keyboards, studio monitors, mics… Dangerous world out there

Kilohearts Multipass is on sale for half off.
I’ve said it before, I think that Multipass is probably my most-used plugin. It’s awesome. It allows you to construct multiband effects out of any combination of Kilohearts snapins, and modulate them with envelopes and LFOs.
It’s super easy to construct other new effects with. I made a reasonable clone of Neural DSP’s Parallax in about 10 minutes with it once.
UA has their version of the 1176 compressor plugin free for the rest of the month of February:
It’s good. Especially for free
It is good. But, UA’s installer for Windows sucks. On my system, it was really intrusive at times. It took me over one hour to fully uninstall. Lots of mucking about in the registry. Never again, free or otherwise.
Their licensing in general sucks
A lot of Arturia software is 50% off for the next few weeks

Just my free Pigments 6 upgrade is going to keep me busy for a while!
Its a great synth.
I’m looking for a pitch shifter VST to quickly down tune one or two half-steps in real time via software.
Tried the Kiloheartz one, but the results were bad
Any ideas for (cheap/free) alternatives?
Kilohearts works perfectly for me, what was the issue?
I tried it for downtuning to D#G#C#F# - and it sounds very unnatural.
I just want to use it for practicing and quickly downtune.
For “real” covers I would downtune the bass itself.
what plugin host are you using?
Tonelib Jam - I will try with Presonus Studio 7 and tell you if that’s different, ok?
Yeah check with a daw
Also try recording at a higher sampling rate , if you recorded at under 88kHz
Yeah. There’s a very math heavy and technical reason why higher sample rates can work better with plugins but just trust me that it is true.
With plugins you are my reference!
I just tried it with something recorded at 44kHz and it was fine up or down a couple semitones. After about a 4th down or a 3rd up I got some artifacting with the default settings. This was in Bitwig.
