Hi, everyone! I’m loving this thread. I just started playing in September and I’m about 3/4 of the way through the course. I switched gears to learning/playing (and learning to play, haha) mostly holiday tunes because my husband and I decided to host a holiday block party featuring a band of our friends (with me on bass!). We played a 10-song set twice and it was my first time playing in front of people and was a lot of fun (and kind of a sloppy mess but we had a good time!). I’m so grateful for this course because it NEVER would have happened without it.

Here’s Feliz Navidad which was definitely one of the most fun ones we did. Unfortunately I’m behind the pole in this angle. :crazy_face: Happy Holidays from El Cerrito, CA!

Fairly easy melody, but in 6/8 time with lots of syncopated rests made it a bit tricky at first.

The only Santa hats we have here are over 3 feet tall and they don’t fit in my room with the low ceilings even sitting down!

I’m not a fan of the song as produced, not a fan of John and Yoko, and not a fan of the bass line as originally played or recorded…. Kinda lacking in structure, and needing a more defined groove. But then again, it’s suppose to be a Christmas song so whadda I know…:rofl::rofl:

Would be a really cool project song though - just use the choir, an acoustic guitar,…. then create a more melodic bass line. :thinking::thinking:
