Thank you @Ed . The tone was the part that was giving me the most aggravation.
Thanks @John_E !
My son sent me a couple of songs from a band called “The Mighty Mighty Bosstones”. Never heard of them. Anybody know who they are?
Indeed I do, have seen them as well.
Great band, I play some of their sax parts for fun.
Only my favorite band ever!
They were one of the main bands leading the 90’s ska revival scene.
They started playing ‘ska-core’----hardcore ska, but mellowed out later on.
Great performance @JerryP - Jerome. Love the tone! This is one if those kinda songs that may sound easier to play then what it actually is to do…. You did it well!
Please do
@John_E & @Old_WannaBe ,
He gave me “The Impression That I Get From You” and “The Rascal King”. I’ll check them out and if I have enough time, I’ll try to learn one of them.
Thanks Lanny!
Very true! There is not a lot of repetition in the baseline, but I guess that’s what makes it fun to play. I don’t have it fully memorized but I remember enough to know when a difference is coming so I check the sheet music.
Hi guys!! I am testing 4 different basses! please check them out!!
Too much RHCP for one setting
The fretless for the win!!
I liked the tone of #1 best.
The fretless gave it a cool feel but the tone did not beat #1 IMO.
Sounds great @JerryP , very nice tone from that bass too. A bit overpowering in the mix, but that’s not what we’re here for, you played it quite well.
#2 for me.
As a beginner I concur. There’s nowhere to hide in a sparse bass line. I really enjoyed that @JerryP
Thanks Pam!
Thanks John!
