My homage to the late great Mighty Mighty Bosstones: Royal Oil.
Wow, really,really great job @Old_WannaBe
Awesome groove man.
Nice finger work and tone on this one @Old_WannaBe ,
Very cool,
Cheers Brian
Thanks folksā¦hardest part of recording this was counting off the drumroll.
Very cool @Old_WannaBe .
That style of bass line is a lot more difficult than they appear
Thank you @Jazzbass19 , @Lanny Lanny , @JDDaniel , @John_E , @TNKA36 Brian, @Mac ! and @Vince !
Yeah, me too. Of course I had some help with the Zoom B1 Four. I had it on the Motown sim (patch 42) for the tone I was looking for.
Iām going to try to find something harder, but I subscribe to the teachings of that great philosopher Dirty Harry: āA manās got to know his limitations.ā
Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement.
Great job @Old_WannaBe ! Nice finger work and tone!
We all are only limited by our own patience.
I have spent months on a single song refusing to let it kick my ass.
Alternatively, I have āgiven upā on songs because I simply donāt care enough to put the time and patience in to nail it.
I believe we all can play anything, all it takes is time and practice.
Iāve been trying to nail āI Want You Backā for the better part of a year.
Why havenāt I got it - patience- I give up.
@Barney - how long did that song take you.
@JerryP - you can play anything you want, this I know.
Thanks for the encouragement, John!
They all seem to take a while, but if you mean āI want you back by The Jackson 5ā? Then the answer is 3 hrs a night for 6 weeks. Lol
AND LOTS OF IT
Great advice for ALL new players.
Finding something harder should not be a problem. Remember running into Billie Jean when you did the B2B course
As far as limitations are concerned, I think @John_E has the right idea. How badly do you really want to be able to play a particular song and are you willing to invest the time and effort.
We are our own worst critics.
Sounds about the same time frame it took me to get Arlo Guthries City of New Orleans down for a solo performance on Acoustic Guitar. My problem is that I keep adding additional flourishes into the mix and this is not necessarily a good thing.
wow, thatās a challenging bassline! Great playing @Old_WannaBe
Thanks
Great works @Old_WannaBeā¦
Nice tone. timing, and finger work⦠Great cover!
