I don’t think you to even wait that long, @Barney . . . a few months or even weeks should be enough for you to pick up on any improvements you’ve made!
You’re doing great
Cheers
Joe

Hey @Barney ,
You are doing great, your relaxed playing style, fingering and technique is really good.
I agree that this is the best way to track your progress, i look back at some of my old covers and know how much better i can play them now.
I may even redo some going forward and repost
Cheers Brian
Great job @Barney , Everybody else already said what is to said, so I leave you with that.
Hey great work @Barney! I never knew that was Fleetwood Mac - I always thought it was “The Top Gear song”
Good choice on the amp setup! Sounds just like the original
Yeah, when I hear a woman singing Chain something, I am always thinking of Chrissie Hyndd and The Pretenders with Chain Gang.
Must be different tune now @Ed, but when I watched it in the UK the theme song was Jessica by The Allman Brothers Band
Ah yes @Barney - you’re right! Damn my memory’s playing tricks on me. It was used as the theme for the other car thing
@Ed Yes and one of the reasons I chose it because of the fond childhood memories of a song in our house that wasn’t boring classical music.
My fond childhood music memories were…
My dad bought a ‘stereo set’ at Caldor (man I miss Caldor) but he refused to buy the ‘good one’, a Fisher, but instead bought a ‘cheaper one’ an Emerson.
Then we went over to the record section to select the one and only record he and my mom bought, Silver Convention, containing the smash hit, Fly Robin Fly.
…
…
…
He never went back to buy another record.
When my mom divorced him she bought:
Somewhere in there I got old enough to buy albums and bought…
KISS Alive
then every other KISS album every made
That was our entire record collection for a long long time.
There was an 8-track player in the basement until my dad got booted.
The selction down there was much broader…
The Carpenters
Paul Anka
Nat King Cole Christmas Album
I did not grow up in a music forward family.
The perfect intersection of talent is him plus Mark Knopfler. I love this version of an old Charlie Rich song they did together. It’s played at least once a week at work. I even learned the guitar part (It took me a very long time).
My cover of Jessie’s Girl 2 by Coheed and Cambria feat. Rick Springfield.
This song is right at the edge of my chugging abilities now, as there are 2 spots where I kind of mess up the tempo for a measure. But, this is my best of 15 takes and I got other stuff to do.
Using my homemade bass again.
Nice finger workout @Old_WannaBe ,
And you got nice tone in the mix with the homemade bass,
Cheers Brian
I like how this tune plays around with the original melody, what a cool idea.
Your homemade bass looks da bomb here!
Playing is great, tone is great.
You really did a greta job on this @Old_WannaBe
Great job @Old_WannaBe
Your homemade bass sounds sweet as!
Great job @Old_WannaBe ! The home made bass sounds great.
Great job, and yeah, that bass looks and sounds great. tone really works well with this song.
Hey gang!
This song was a request from a family member but it gave me a chance to try out DaVinci Resolve video software. The video is nothing fancy but thanks to @John_E & @PamPurrs excellent tutorial, I was able to try some things and get used to the software. As always, comments are welcome.
Well done @JerryP
That bass sounds good on every tune.
Good job with the video too, did you use auto-sync?
How did you like Resolve?
Thanks John! Yes, I did use auto-sync and I like Resolve a lot. My laptop has just enough power to get the job done, but I want to try my desktop back in NJ that I built just for Resolve when I get back.
Great job on the bass @JerryP and kudos on the video production.
