Great choice to round out a trio of '50’s songs! Very well done!
Three for one, all are great.
Time to join a sock hop band man, you’ve already passed the audition.
I really wanted to get a cover done this weekend, but things just kept getting in the way. I feel like I rushed this one a little because I need to get some work done. I have a tendency to come in a little loud in the mix. Overall, I’m happy with how it turned out. (Much better than my earlier videos for sure.)
Take On Me by a-ha
Squier CV 70’s P-bass
Zoom B6
Ampeg Micro-VR
Scarlett 2i2
Garageband
Been playing since March 2020
I enjoyed that. I watched a video of that song by Cover Solutions? I think, a few months ago and thought.
A. That’s a great bass line
B. It much more syncopated and complicated than I’d expect from an 80’s pop song.
Nice work
Thanks @Barney
Definitely a cool bass line.
@howard ………just WOW!
Some good stuff there @Barney and well played. Sounded great
Nice job @Paul_9207 . I attempted that very bass line and found it quite frustrating. Ended up chucking it on the back burner for another day
Great job @Paul_9207 ! I think you handled that bass line very well. Good tone out of the Squire.
thanks @JerryP !
Wow, this is a much more complicated bassline than I would have thought, you did a great job here. I love the tone. Do you have some sort of flanger or phaser on it or is it just how you recorded it?
Man, you are really nailing things all around lately @Paul_9207 !!!
Thanks @John_E !
This is what my editor looks like on my Zoom B6. Most of the effect is from the envelope filter and chorus. I always appreciate your encouragement.
thanks @Mac !
I hear you. I have lists of potential songs to cover. Short, Main and Long. This is definitely on the long list. Cool bass line though.
Wow, that was really great - thanks for posting that!
Tequila Sunrises for everyone!
thank you!
Hey there boys and girls,
This is another song that this local guitar player wanted me to play with him. He’s a big Ventures fan and this is another one of their songs. I’d never heard of it before this, but I understand it was originally done by The Shadows way back when. It took many takes to get it right so here it is. Comments always welcome.
Setup:
Ibanez SR400EQM eq set midway → Scarlett 2i2 → Reaper DAW → Ampeg V4B sim → CLA-76 compressor.
Great job as usual @JerryP! The quilt veneer on that SR400 looks awesome!
Very nice @JerryP
Sounds great @JerryP !
Thanks @Paul_9207 !
