Post your covers! (2019-2022)

I hate you. You make it look too easy. I might as well quit. Just kidding Jerry! You always do a good job. With all the covers you have done, you should join a 60’s-70’s-80’s cover band. Your setlist would be awesome and span generations.

It’s October first! I have made a little playlist of songs I want to cover this month that have a Halloween feel. This is Subway Song by The Cure. It’s a spooky short story with an unsettling repetitive bass line. I love Halloween!

I’ve been playing since March 2020. When I started I had a terrible ear and never imagined I would ever learn a song just by listening to it. I have since learned a handful of songs by ear. This song is very simple and is definitely the kind of song you want try your ear on, simple and easy to hear.

Gallup’s basslines are great for this. One of the first basslines I learned by ear was A Forest.

Nice cover

Thanks @howard !
The bassist for Three Imaginary Boys was actually Michael Dempsey who was a great bassist. I think Robert Smith actually fired him because Smith wanted to keep things simple and Dempsey would come up with some really elaborate bass lines.

Wild! I knew about Dempsey but I didn’t put 2 and 2 together there. Thanks

Yes :ok_hand: Huge Cure fan. That was fabulous fun. Oh and glad I had the volume up for the Easter Egg

Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed that.

This one is not Halloween themed, I recorded three today. I used the selfie camera on my phone today to make it easier to frame. It was a bad idea because everything came out grainy. Oh well.
This song is really fun to play. I think I learned it on Rocksmith a while ago.

Sorry for the video dump this weekend. My wife was out of town yesterday. My buddy was supposed to come jam with me too, but he wasn’t feeling well, so I made the most out of my Saturday.
Strings felt extra sticky. My fingers get sticky when I film, no other time. It’s weird.

Great covers @Barney and @Paul_9207, someday I am going to take the time to read through @PamPurrs and @John_E “How to Record Yourself.” You both are inspiring.

Great job @Paul_9207 and @Barney ! Four covers pop up while I was traveling. Great stuff to come home to and relax. I enjoyed all of them, great work you guys! Keep 'em coming.

Thanks. Just start recording on your phone, you’ll get better at it as you go. It’s a lot of information to take in at once.
