Wow! that is so cool, and beautifully executed! Interesting that you say it’s not your normal genre. Before B2B (class of '20) I thought I knew what musical genres I liked. Now my whole musical world has opened up and I find a love so much and so many styles and genres. I often listen to the other Julie (Hofer) and find her covers eye-opening. Well done!
Here’s my latest cover, if you like 2tone - “Gangsters” by The Specials. Not perfect I know, but I spent so many months on this trying to build up my speed and work on my timing. I’m fairly happy with the result…
Very nicely done @tony.bave !

Good job, all that work paid off
OMG, your ability to stretch those fingers is super impressive. Your fretting fingers are so much longer than mine. Great cover BTW…
That was Gangsta @tony.bave! Great work on this, lots of neat rhythms all over this tune.

Hey gang
I heard this song on the end credits of a Sopranos episode, done by Larry McCray. I went with the Etta James version instead. The bass line is 50% lifted from the track and 50% of me improvising/noodling. Also, first cover with the Fuji Gen BMJ bass.
Technical:
Tuning: EADG → pickups at 75%, tone at 50% ->direct input to Scarlett 2i2 → Reaper DAW ->CLA-76 compressor → Ampeg V4B amp sim
Hope you enjoy it.
that’s a great bass tone ! also a nice groove as always

Thank you @terb Laurent and @toughdoody !

Mr @JerryP - this was damn fantastic!
Great groove, I think you found your genre!
That was effortless.
Thanks John! I have to find more songs like this.
Hey guys,
I’m on holidays for a couple of days so I thought I’d go back and catch up on the best part of the forum, “The Covers Section” to see how everyone is progressing.
I was blown away

We have so many people putting up great covers,
@dlamson13 , loved the Blondie song “Shayla”
@terb , loved your improvisation on the country song
@Vegaswizzle , loved the smooth 5 string song, sounded like something from”Sade”
@Paul_9207 , you must have “the cure” in ya veins
@Barney , some fun stuff, and you always look like your having fun😎
@JerryP , some cool “Beatles “ stuff, along with a couple for your mate in Hawaii
@RoyB , some really great improvements
@John_E , went colour blind with the “Fender” swaps👍
@Ed , you need to start wearing a “Lemmy” hat, oh and I don’t recall any sunshine during the song you did wearing your sunnies:joy:
@robbp , loved the sabbath song👍
@howard , great covers as always👍
@Old_WannaBe , thought you were going to rob a bank:joy:
@groaner , nice first up cover👍
If I have forgotten anyone, apologies in advance,
Keep up the great work

And I will keep plugging away on my pipes:joy:

Cheers Brian
Great playing @JerryP! Love those down slides. Tone has just the right edge on it. Nice choice going with Etta on this one

Thank you @dlamson13. I appreciate the kind words.
@tony.bave - great job! Those octave jumps are tricky - well done…
@JerryP - tone sounded awesome! Very nice… enjoyed that song…
Nice job @JerryP I really can’t tell the noodling from the original - it all sounds spot on
I actually don’t know the original but the riff sounds a bit like Crossroads… Nice bass too. Good shape to it
lols - it’s always sunny when I’m playing bass. or hungover ![]()
