I appreciate it! That is good advice. I noticed that mistakes do pop less live. I notice when I look at the recordings, but my friends and family don’t notice at all!
You were doing great. The song had a few breaks and you just nailed it. You just keep this up before you know it you’d be jammin in front of audience.
@John_E said it best the closer to live playing the more special it gets when playing. I love playing live it gives me the special energy I can’t get from any kind of practice.
How about some old time Rock and Roll?
Squire Classis Vibe ‘70’s P-Bass
LaBella Deep Talkin’ Flats
Behringer BDI 21
Scarlett 2i2
Reaper with CLA-76 Compressor, Vahalla Reverb, Amplitube SVX-15 plug-ins
I wanted to try out the BDI 21 before my next trip out.
Enjoy and thanks for watching.
Going through both the BDI-21 and a B-15 sim really drives home the Ampeg tone ![]()
Great cover and nice video editing in this one.
Thank you Howard!
That’s some ears you’ve got man. I listen to it twice trying to figure out how you got almost the mic up upright in the hall with the notes slightly dragged, then I went back and read, Reverb. that’s dialed in perfectly. I envy your ability to see the whole picture, I’m so tunnel visioned most of the time all I can see is how I can cut through the mix, and you see how yours fit in the mix. Bravo @JerryP
Thank you Al! I really appreciate your analysis. I’m really learning a lot from listening to everyone else’s covers.
You would have made a great producer and engineer no joke. If I ever put together my music I’d greatly appreciated if you’d give my stems a once over. You have an extraordinary feel for what and where things should be. Believe me you can’t teach that.
some fun covers to watch
@Barney enjoyed the song and the appearance of the count and friends…hearing this maytals tune reminded me of pressure drop, so am going to learn that now, so thanks for that ![]()
@beaurapp always like the multi instrument covers, nice playing and fun vibe…good luck for live with it
@JerryP a true classic, complete with walking bass line, you got a great Pbass tone for this style going, nice work
Thanks @g13dip !
Wow all I can say is awesome covers @JerryP, @beaurapp and @Barney. Those were some great songs that you all picked that I have not heard in awhile. The video editing is quite impressive! Always entertaining to sit watch and listen to everyone progress. Still trying to figure out all the equipment needed to start doing the same. Fantastic job guys!!!
I heard about the Maytals because of Pressure Drop BUT I knew it growing up as a Specials song. Then someone played me the original. Still partial to The Specials version though.
Nice work as usual @JerryP I’m really impressed with Amplitude 5. They just need to expand the bass section a bit.
They have a pretty solid selection with Max. And high quality yeah
Thank you @Glenn !
Thanks Barney!
I agree.
I will generally always prefer ska over reggae. Though I guess Toots were both.
Perfect @JerryP !!
Well done
Great job, Jerry!
