Good job, brutha. That’s my jam right there. Good pick work too. I’m working on my pick technique right now so I like seeing people using it. Keep up the good work.
Love it bro!!
Thanks amigo!! I’m way more comfortable with a pick tbh, as I’m a recovering guitarist ![]()
yes, Bob was the chill master with music, very mellow stuff. Love the vibes his music creates! Thanks for the compliments brother I appreciate it! Just keep plugging away with a pick, it becomes second nature. Also, take a look at trying different ones. I find the a .73 is the best for me since it has some flex, but I like a .88 sometimes too if I want to play harder rock or metal due to being able to dig in somewhat better. I’m a Tortex guy too, mainly what I use.
Simple Minds - Don’t you (forget about me)
This was a challenge for the galloping rhythm and the palm muting but I think it sounds fine. Let me know what you think.
Well done.
Triple Threat incoming!

I’ve finished a trio of interlude-type tracks from Mayer Hawthorne’s For All Time so let’s get into it!
Mayer Hawthorne - Hawthorne Rides Again
This is the opening track to the album and it sets the scene!
Mayer Hawthorne - Cream Interior
I imagine a late model Caddy with cream colored velvet interior when I hear this track.
…and finally:
Mayer Hawthorne - Deuce and a Quarter
Not sure the meaning behind the title, but I dig it. I tried to think of things that may have cost $2.25 back in the day but nothing stood out…
These tracks are only about 4 minutes in total so it was a pretty quick exercise to get through them. Hope you enjoy!
I have to admit I never properly paid attention to this bassline until your cover. Heard the song a zillion times, but now after seeing you do it, its obvious the muted gallop really propels the song. I kind of assumed it was just 8th notes. Great cover @Diego317!
great, I like those interlude covers !
That’s great @fennario love that Sandberg tone man. Love the alternating finger discipline
Cheezzy man @cheeze_pizza. That sponge tone is a killer. Love the grooves. The 3rd tune is definitely my favorite the foam is just enough to deadened the sustain but not the overall tone. Very soulful.
The picking is great and the palm muting is spot on @Diego317. It sounds like this song is made for MM pickups. Good Job man.
Gotta start playing with a pick.
Thanks @Al1885 !
Playing the half-rounds on the Sandberg - I dig the sound, but I dig the feel so much more. Not as much high-end as the Cobalt flats, though.
As for the plucking fingers - they are on auto-pilot for the most part. If there’s a tricky passage I might have to sit down and plan it out, but for the most part I just play now and the fingers do their thing. At least the pinky isn’t running off into the next room! ![]()
Good tone man!
It’s not so much the message but I didn’t finish the video. The Flashing lights sends me straight to a pretty terrible headache.
Good playing, @cheeze_pizza. I can’t tell what song is my favorite; the first and second ones are a toss up. My favorite shirt is definitely from the third video though. Ha ha. Well done on all three songs.
Nice job, @fennario. I’ve been groovin’ to CCR since I was a little kid when I found a shoe box with my parents’ old cassettes in the basement. “Who are these scruffy-bearded losers? Oh wait, they rock.” That’s still my greatest musical achievement. I won my 2nd grade talent show doing “Down on the Corner” on a kazoo. Rock on, brother.
RADIOHEAD - STREET SPIRIT ( FADE OUT) well you all know my sound quality ain’t the best haha
but here I am torturing you guys and gals with another video. Band practice unfortunately got cancelled so I messed with this song instead. I can always find something positive in the negative. Hey, I learned a new song today so that’s a plus
if you watch it, thanks and hope you enjoy ![]()

Nice, man! Probably my favorite Radiohead song.
“Immerse your soul in love!”
Ah thanks man!! Yea this is my favorite song by them also!! I really appreciate your comment and watching it!
Great job on this by the way!! Love the thumbnail too
